it is sad to see this yank talking about Iraqis flying a kingair without his help as if it is a big deal, Iraqis ran an entire airforce with AWACS and midair refuling fleet modified by their own poeple, well before the invadors and their collaborators took over

They grounded everything to enable Lord Bush's Made-For-TV Invasion Special [brought to you by Halliburton, Blackwater, and Goldman Sachs]. A few rogue army units disobeyed orders and put up a brave but uncoordinated battle in both wars with coalition forces.

A long war with Iran and U.N. sanctions didn't help matters, either. I suppose for now that Iraq only needs air patrols for domestic security.

Nice to see this, I read up on Air Conflict during the 8 years war (What they call the first gulf war) & The iraqis made a pretty good showing of themselves, They & the Iranians are the only Helicopter pilots in the world with Confirmed air to air kills.

@thearabunity Obviously you have no Idea what you are talking about. This is NOT a piston engine, it is a turboprop. The Iraqi Air Force will soon be getting almost 100 F-16s, dozens of attack choppers, numerous transport planes and helicopters, and more recon planes such as the one above. Also, do you know how expensive 500 Fulcrums would be? And a waste? You need a diverse mix of planes to fill all roles; not just 500 Fighters.

@migkiller001 Iraq needs to trade in those F-16's at the earliest politically feasible opportunity. Every one of those F-16's has a satellite backdoor that allows the U.S. to degrade or even shut down the whole fighter if Baghdad ever gets out of line.

Whatever they get, they'll have to make sure that the replacement has no U.S. components capable of being affected by satellite signals from the U.S.

Almost 8 years and they fly a KingAir, at that rate it will take 50 years to fly F-16s.
