  • Linked brakes are for sure disabled on freds bike

  • I think these bikes have linked brakes which engage both front and rear, whether you use the pedal or front brake. I have a 2003 and the linked brakes are safe but annoying sometimes.

  • vfr is hondas greatest most versatile machine, tour in comfort great milage and range, slap squids in the twistys ,unrivaled fit finish durability and quality and stunning looks!

  • That's not a stock bike by a long shot.

  • Poor quakity but one of best moto videos on YouTube

  • he was obviously trying to confuse the camera man by indicating left and turning right.i wonder if he used to use this old racers trick when he was in his prime?

  • You know, you watch this and you think "that looks easy enough" And off you go and buy a sportbike, take it to a track day and realize you have bitten off waaaay more than you can chew. You contemplate this as you head off into turn 1 with what you think is 20mph too much, grab too much brake, downshift so many times you end up owing the transmission 2 gears and wobble your way thru the rest of the turn."Ah, Spencer did it with trick photography" you reason...atleast that's how my experience went.Ha

  • The riding is sublime. But why was he on the break so much of the time (i.e., see the break lights come on in most turns in/out)?

  • @aminevich So the cmamra guy could keep up.

  • @keendriver2753 touche my friend. Good one.

  • @aminevich pro riders can turn and use brakes at the same time. lightly using the rear brake in a turn can settle the bike down to become rear biased. It's done usually when accelerating is not an option

  • @aminevich Some riders use the brake to set the bike while still on the throttle. Most people are taught to use gas, then coast , then back off the gas then brake. Each individually. Racers use everything and interweave them, So although you may see the brake lite on. It may not mean he is fully braking. Freddie also has this creamy smooth style of rolling off the gas and slowly appling the brake at the same time so as not to upset the bike. He rides faster with one hand then most do with two!

  • @nimlil wow, that's by far the most insightful answer I've received. Thanks for taking time out to answer me. Much appreciated.

  • It makes it look so bloody easy!

  • Mid Eighties, Freddie, Eddie and the gang.....good times, my friends. Good times.

  • I bet if you watch him lead 20 guys around there,it would be inch perfect everytime. I love the brakes all the way to the apex.

  • Typical Spencer style.

  • Mr. Blue Bajou - Blew By You

  • a beast i tell you!!!!! a beast!!!! crazy smooth!

  • I can't help but think of Da Vinci or Michelangelo. This guy wasn't ever just fast and a world champion... he is an artist.

    What an inspiration.

  • Buying a hammer does not make you a carpenter. Freddy is a carpenter, I just have a hammer.

  • I have a hammer too, but I am starting to think that it controls my arm.

  • NICE VIDEO!!!! LOVE THAT SOUND!

  • I wish I could throw my VFR around like that

  • Ahh, me too!!

  • I can and I have the scratches on the plastic to prove it lol

j/k this is an example that with a competent skilled rider most of the bikes we ride can go much much farther than most of us have the skill to ride .....

ps im not that good of a rider

  • I've managed to get my 'chicken strips' down to 1/2 inch, but I do use all-weather tyres (BT020's) - That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it :0)

  • Yeh, right.. I always remember Freddy Spencer as being slow... DOH!

  • Freddy RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • that's why they call him fast;)

  • holy shit hes smooth as a pair of boobs!

    haha awesome

  • Blah Blah Blah about engine noise, Just watch Freddie!

  • Bike you are hearing is a CBR 1000rr. Jeff Haney, Dale Kieffer, or Nick Ienatsch could be riding it. Freddie's not going slow, he's just really smoooooth!

did the school and it ROCKS!

  • looks and sounds great!

  • That sounds a helluva lot like the new VFR to me.

  • suprised the camera could keep up!

  • Why? He wasn't going that quick....no slides, drifting, etc, just a reasonably fast pace.

  • I want that bike

  • love the sound of the v4

  • You must realize - That is the chase bike you are hearing, not the VFR :)

  • i assumed the rider following is also on a vfr?

  • I would have thought that to, but that engine sound is not that of the V4 in a VFR :)

  • yea i suppose a little high pitched for vfr, would be a lower grunty kind of noise

  • sounds like it could be some kind of in-line 4, like maybe a Honda CBR or Yamaha YZF-R1 type.

  • The guy behind's going pretty good too...

  • He can really make it move. Awesome.

  • forse poteva fare 1 po d +... ;P
