A game of this type requires good graphics, because it´s not the type of game that offers us a deep, touching storyline.. I searched for Super Mario 64 DS EVERYWHERE (which I found at a Best Buy) and Diddy Kong Racing DS (which I bought online). Also got Mario Kart DS and New Super Mario Bros. Classics are the best. @tetradd - Hmm...I don't know why, but I think you might have missed the point - DKC in general does have quite a few gimmicks. Play some of the later stages of the original and you'll see - each level was themed, of course, after a specific obstacle or gimmick. Vines were present in the previous games, special variants for example being in one level of the original that sent you down or up if they were red or blue automatically.
@aequitas18 - You know, that's what Retro Studios does best - they're called that for a reason. They revived Metroid AND Donkey Kong Country - both series (and in this case specific gameplay style) seemed to have lost their edge or not even appear that much before those games came out.

This game is like a more high tech remake of Donkey Kong Country for SNES. I'd like it if this was crossed over with New Super Mario Bros. Wii since 2 Toads don't equal to Donkey and Diddy. I wonder if they'll make a New Super Mario Bros. 3 or Donkey Kong Country Returns 2? If they made 2, it would probably look like DKC2 Diddy's Kong Quest and maybe DKCR 3 would look like DKC 3 Dixie Kong's Double Trouble.

When I was watching E3, and this was announced...I no joked had a tear go down my face. Donkey Kong Country was by far the best Console game I have ever played and I'm glad Nintendo brought it back and I loved it!
They had the sprites, they had the platforming but they couldn't recapture the magic. Donkey Kong Country and Donkey Kong Country 2 were perfect games... It's a nice tribute though, although it's one that's probably already forgotten.

While I do like this game and it's great as a platformer on it's own but I think it's terrible as an entry in the series itself, and to say it's no longer the 90s get over it, you seem to forgetting that of course it will be compared to the SNES games, are you really fans of the series because by insulting the past games like that you make yourselves seem like people who's first time ever playing the series was Returns and never actually picked up and played the SNES ones *2bcont.*

@SoloRazaSoldier13 I completely agree. I love COD with a passion but I have to admit, I'll always stay true to classic Nintendo games. I actually bought DS remakes of old games for my DS Lite. I searched for Super Mario 64 DS EVERYWHERE (which I found at a Best Buy) and Diddy Kong Racing DS (which I bought online). Also got Mario Kart DS and New Super Mario Bros. Classics are the best. I'm only 13 but I think that kids now automatically think that if a game is old it sucks. That's pure bullcrap.

@BadComenter Game ratings aren't based on visuals completely. For example animated blood, yes is based off visuals, but suggestive themes and language are based on context. And I agree with you as well, all games are fun and all games should be for everyone, there is no real age limit on a good game.

@tetradd - Hmm...I don't know why, but I think you might have missed the point - DKC in general does have quite a few gimmicks. Play some of the later stages of the original and you'll see - each level was themed, of course, after a specific obstacle or gimmick. Vines were present in the previous games, special variants for example being in one level of the original that sent you down or up if they were red or blue automatically.

This game is like a more high tech remake of Donkey Kong Country for SNES. I'd like it if this was crossed over with New Super Mario Bros. Wii since 2 Toads don't equal to Donkey and Diddy. I wonder if they'll make a New Super Mario Bros. 3 or Donkey Kong Country Returns 2? If they made 2, it would probably look like DKC2 Diddy's Kong Quest and maybe DKCR 3 would look like DKC 3 Dixie Kong's Double Trouble.
