Just loved it. I am trying to do the same thing with a 4510 counter. Do you think it´s possible? Conecting the piezo in series with the Clok Pulse Input pin is giving me some, but strange results. Numbers jump "ramdonly". Would you be kind enough to let me know the exact setup you used conecting the piezo into the chip? Thanks a lot. Alexandre Zielinskyj - alezelinski@gmail.com
Home made you say. Where do you get one. My physics prof. says that you can get them from the greeting cards that play annoying music. It's just a cheap piezo speaker.
Yeah, piezo disks are used in those, just hook one out of a musical card, or get one from a piezo speaker. You can probably buy them in radioshack aswell.
My friend! They can put out thousands of volts I hear.
The output impedance is so extremely high though. Many people hook them up through transformers to lower the impedance, but that also steps down the voltage drastically
Thnx! they can put out up to 40 volts! Ive built an amp to give a pressure reading. i could just differenciate this for velocity. Its took a back seat for a while cause of uni though!
good presentation

how did you manage to get enough electricity to power the two red lights? Did you amplify/transform the current to a higher voltage?

You made a fcking counter with a piezo crystal! That's so ingenious, I love it!

Fantastic! What do they do?

Thats kool.. Good idea, connect to the trigger some counter :D
4 noobs, the sensor is normal piezo-electric module...

Whats the prise for a cheap trigger module?
Please let me know
Thanks.

This counter is nice!
But can u sense the punch? and sample and hold the peak value?
That should be cool, if u have a piezo trigger, u need it to send velocity to the module...
