  • Wow, great demo! Thank you for posting. The feel of the guitars is quite similar in hand and this video really helps me hear the difference clearly. I have to say it's the 290 for me. Been thinking about a Collings electric for some time now. Maybe today is NGD (new guitar day)....

  • i'd love to hear if you add one to your collection....the 290 is a killer guitar! Thanks for your kind post and all the best with your music,

    dale

  • @tonedr

I sure did (it's Orange!) and have not put it down in 2 days. Just might get some sleep tonight....

Thanks again for the virtual help!

  • Great Demo!

Do you happen to know what the headstock pitch angle is on these babies? Keep the great vids coming.

    Jeremy

  • hello, thanks so much for checking this out....i'm sorry i have no idea about headstock angles. All the best,

    dale

  • wow the 360 has a much brighter tone. i guess if you like jazz, go with the 290. they both look great though.

  • i agree - first mini-hum i've owned and it does growl and have a brighter tone that typical HB - thanks for sharing your impressions and watching!

    all the best,

    dale

  • @foolintherain100 This particular 360 has the Maple top which does give it a little brighter tone than what one might expect from minis. The 360 is also available in a solid Mahogany body and that sounds WAY different than this Maple top version. To my ears, the all mahogany version is much warmer overall better for the Blues style I play.

  • Fine playing and nice sound. You inspired me to buy me Collings 290. And I love the sound of the guitar. Thank you for posting.

  • congrats on the guitar!! They are killers - appreciate you watching the video. All the best,

    dale

  • The guitars are awesome and I enjoy watching you play but - could your wife convince my wife to favour me with a similar generous sentiment?

All the best to you :-)

  • lol! i'd be glad to ask.....thanks so much for your kind words!

    peace,

    dale

  • I don't get it!!! How do you have all these Collings Dale???

  • Really appreciate you watching! Hope all is good,

    dale

  • If I was told I could have as many guitars as I wanted, but only one pickup, it would be Lollar mini HB's - best pickups on the planet!

  • that is a great endorsement.....i've got to say i love them! Really appreciate you watching and i hope all is good,

    dale

  • nice playing dale.. i personally favor the 360

  • great to hear your feedback! Really appreciate you watching.....all the best,

    dale

  • I think I need to feel and hear one in person so I know you won't mail one up I'll just give you the directions to Vermont and you can take a road trip LOL!!

    take care my friend

    Paul

  • that is one of the best ideas i've heard in a long while..Vermont yes!! What month works for you guys?? Hey if your ever in KY you've got a friend in Versailles that will play guitar and eat as long as you want!

    your friend,

    dale

  • With you playing them, both guitars sound pretty awesome! The 360 does seem to have more of a trebley sort of edge to it though. In all positions, its tone is a tad crisper than the 290's. It's got more bite.

  • that is what i hear as well - maybe somehow even a bit more focus to the tone - not good or bad but a nice difference. Thanks so much for taking your time to watch and share your impressions.......kind words are great appreciated. All the best,

    dale

  • Awesome dude! Me and the wife just sitting here with our mouths hanging open. Rock on friend!

  • hello sir! hope all is good.....really appreciate you watching this video.....thanks so much! You guys stay safe and well......your friend,

    dale
