@A2zunim Practically all remotes for TV, VCR etc. are nowadays. They have a glossy almost opaque plastic window in the front that often have a reddish tint i bright light.

My dad once bought a TV that had ultrasound remote. It was the coolest thing. While IR-remotes only work when your pointing it towards the TV/VCR that one worked in any direction.

I doubt however that this hack gives better range since LED:s have narrow beams of about 15-20 degrees. No light behind the LED to reflect.
