On Location: Burrowing Owls in Florida

I live in Cape Coral..i could swear your driving up my street!! And those are Fire Ants, Yow!! I used to lure the Owls with a toy placed on a fishing pole. Much like a cat, the moving "lure" made them attack and i was able to lure them almost up to my "blind" : My parent's station wagon. At night they call to each other from their perches and attack the insects that are attracted to the street lamps shining on the street below.. Thus they frequently like empty lots near cul de sacs.

Enjoyed your video a lot richard. I'm planning on shooting in florida next year, will give this location a thought. One negative I found, was that the grass in florida was full of red biting ants... not the best for shooting.

@JBICK666 don't even get me started on the ants! lol. I actually filmed a little section for this video about them but cut it out in the end. At one point, my ThinkTank StreetWalker Hard Drive bag was covered in them! So yes, beware everyone....if you go to Florida, look carefully at the floor before you lay on it! :)
