The pre-Fender D25-12's and the legacy D212's are a great 12 string guitars. Guild has always excelled in building 12's. I have a 78 F212SB jumbo cut and an 80 D212CH dreadnaught cut . Both have excellent tone. The D212 is slightly more robust in the lower end and the F212 is brighter.
What gauge strings are you using here? I've been using 10's but think I'd like to go 12's.
That's the narration everyone is referring to?!?! My little ad-libbed comment about Handel? I can't believe it. People can't possibly be taking me seriously there.
In my responses below I was just playing along. People take things, and themselves, way too seriously anymore. Jumping to conclusions like this is one of the reasons our country has gotten so screwed up.
Get over yourselves, people. Learn to laugh a little. Great playing OspreyD40, by the way.
It was a gift from my folks when I turned 17. If I remember correctly it was around $800. And you should definitely try some Guilds, I'll never buy a different brand of acoustic. Saw a used D-55 a few weeks ago, it was $1600. Even though it sounded luscious, I had to walk away from it.
Thanks for your compliment. Wish I had played a little better or more interestingly but I was just winging it here to do the demo. Guilds are awesome, you wouldn't go wrong getting one
Handel's Messiah is an Oratorio with no opera in it whatsoever.

@erixson100 Thank you for clearing that up, I was unaware of such a distinction.

Any Guild I listen to sounds awesome, they have a very distinctive resonance to them.

"...so, for all you uncultured folks out there: that's opera." For everyone else, well, it's not.

And we are supposed to care why? The others who said you are a jerk are right.

@bmfilmnut apparently, the three of you all go to the same junior high school. Nice phantom account that you're trolling with, by the way.

Your playing is OK but you seem to be a bit full of yourself, don't you think?
candiennestroke 2 years ago
Yes. Yes I do.
megatop412 2 years ago
@candiennestroke That's exactly what I was a thinking. Megatop is really obnoxious.

Actually, I don't think I was being obnoxious enough

Very nice.
I don't know about the coated strings though. They sound funny on my six string acoustic. I use the plain old non-coated D'addario phosphor bronze.
