Notice how Jay's eyes are drawn larger in Season 2. It's one of those classic animation techniques; sympathetic characters get larger eyes, while villains get squinty ones (contrast Aladdin with Jafar, to use another example). I wonder sometimes if the decision to give Jay small eyes in Season 1 adversely affected the show's ratings.
