@TheBashingBro Well, he's with both now! He's stayed with Pearl Jam and it looks like he always will. But Soundgarden has just reunited, and he's playing back with them as well, and just juggling the schedule.
in my opinion Matt Cameron ruined this song. Ever since he joined this band they have been playing it faster than on the record. It just ruins the Beauty of the song for me for such a Beautiful work of art this song was.
Give 'em a break. They're badass and McCready is one of the most entertaining lead guitarists I've seen live. He and Eddie always engage the crowd. You wouldn't be running and jumping into things in every one of the 867 shows you've played either.
I love Pearl Jam so much! They fucking rock so hard, it just sucks they are so old! They've lost all the energy they had, I love watching Pinkpop '92 because of it, either way they rock just as hard, bones just can't take the jumping I guess. Haha
@Pinkerton419 And it looked like a different crowd too... that's beauty of life: people change as they go along! Thank god. I'd get pretty bored otherwise!
For all of you who comment on lack of energy on Eddie's part... What you need to know is this was a very bad time for Eddie. Just two short months from that performance Eddie's divorce from his first wife Beth was final after 6 years of marriage (plus 10 years of relationship before marriage). I wonder who would be jumping for joy in a situation like that.
I like how Eddie looks somewhere, in the same spot, same direction, never moving his eyes around. Maybe this is not how they were in early '90. . . This was bad time for him, that is why, for me, this cannot be BAD PERFORMANCE. . .
this was pearl jam at their prime (concert wise). in 2000 they were nothing short of amazing. anything prior to, or post, 2000 doesn't come anywhere near the kick ass-ery of this tour.
i must say i do miss Dave but Matt has great energy and he has been with them for more then ten years now you could easily say he's the original drummer
umm, what? how can you say he's the original drummer when he's not? he never WILL be the original drummer. Dave Krusen will always be their original drummer... followed by Abbruzzese , Jack Irons, and THEN matt cameron
@Badfish228 actually, Matt used to record demo's for pearl jam way back late 89's when eddie wa sstill in Bad Radio, did you know that the Song Alive, Andy Wood from mother love bone, Jeff and Stone's band before pearl jam, used to listen to that Song which was a demo version..
Search for some videos in youtube, there you will find proof that they first met Matt. but Originally, the Drummer that Recorded the Record "TEN" was Dave Krusen :) followed by Chamberlain then the Great DAVE :D
@22HeroHeroine Eddie put the words to ALIVE...the band (Mike, Jeff and Stone) send Ed the demo MUSIC and he recorded the lyrics over it and sent it back to them. Thats how he got the job as lead singer.
Man, they can still rock like it's 1992! But look at this video compared to their Pink Pop performance from 1992. Their behaviour is so subdued compared to then. I wish they'd still jump and run around and dive on the ground and goof around with each other, that kind of behaviour is fitting for the music.
@classof132010 Eddie was a legend back in the days. Now he's just a lazy fuck. Just like Cornell, Axl and other sell-outs. Ozzy, Lemmy, Brian J remain in a class of their own: METAL GODS!!
@WouterJ ...oh hell no ! once a rocker always a rocker ! im 31...im married, no kids, i still drum, and i rock the shit out of a circle pit at lamb of gods gigs ! everyone i meet thinks im 24 !
@Woute The Rolling Stones, Iron Maiden, The Who, and many others that i can't think of right now, are over 60s, twice their age, and they dont just jump, they run, headbang and really move onto stage.. sadly there is no good excuse D:... dont get me wrong i love pearl jam, but they now have a weak stage performance(not musical)
I wanna look like eddie geesh!
