  • for sure my fav Dokken #...still got it don't he!!!

  • It's going to be a long ,hot what's left of summer, cold fall, and cold winter, and long, windy, rainy spring without her. ;(

  • That doesn't look like George Lynch to me, is it him??

  • @bellagio53 it's reb beach

  • dam reb beach tight!!

  • Got to love some DOKKEN !!!!

  • damn he still has an unbelievable voice (no not amazing I don't use that overused word by teens ) :) Thanks for posting this.

  • I think Lynch was right. Don wanted all the money and glory,

  • is that Reb Beach playing guitar?

  • @johnnypayne3 Reb Beach is the only one who could pull it off ,HAIL GEORGE LYNCH for writing all these awsome licks.

  • @johnnypayne3 Of course he is.

  • i always always always loved this song..;)

  • Killer :)

  • Don Dokken is da man!

  • @303430 I probably would not have watched this all the way through if it were not for your comment. I had to see who you meant! Thanks for putting the time down, and thanks SO much for the chuckle. Made my day! ha ha ha ha ha

  • great band to see live chev! 2010

  • @chevylover20077 Not anymore, unfortunately Don's voice is shot now. Look at some of the recent vids on here. HORRIBLE. It's a shame.

  • anyone besides me notice how don dokken slowed everything down over the years?? i love the music, but just seems like it takes away from the songs...

  • I'm sorry, Reb is great, but he just couldn't capture the emotion George does in this one.... One of my all time fav George solos and this did nothing but make me want him back!!!!

  • This is one of the top five best ballads of the last half of the 20th century. RAWr!

  • One of the most under rated band of all time.

  • i used to sing this song in one of may bands~Great powerful song! Ty Dokken!

  • Dokken....one of my favorite bands!!

  • Never got the fame they deserved. George Lynch was the man.

  • to all that have lost a loved one, I am truely sorry. I hope this song can bring you some comfort. god bless.

  • C'mon.... after "Fade to Black" ..... what was next in line for all the 6 stringers in 1991 ? Alone Again !

  • I almost saw Dokken last year. But my friend totally blew off on me. -shakes head- Major regret.

  • dokken is and will always be the fuckin best under rated band

  • @wildchild1970 ......

Nope...... most under-rated band ? Sevendust. End of story.

  • Don Dokken will be opening the show for Y&T on May 22nd at the SF Fillmore. Hope he still sounds great.

  • This vid is great- man, Don sounds spot-on here for sure- but the recent videos I've seen of him online are utterly horrible. These tunes aren't easy to sing, but Don- stop smoking 2 packs onstage a night and lose some weight- you look terrible and if you want a realistic Dokken reunion w/ George Lynch, you gotta deliver. You did it here, you can do it again.

  • Reb Beach was a great replacement for King George as Reb does the songs justice in his own style, but he gets the boot too from Don. Yes Don was "on" here but off most other nights, even in 1999. In 2009, forget it, he is shot. I still hope they all get back for one last run of greatness. But, Don cares about nobody, not even himself it seems. Lynch fans check out new Lynch Mob with Oni "wicked sensation" Logan back on the mic.

  • @The1WhoKnowsTheTruth yeah the ONE TIME I saw dokken with the orig members, don threw a fit about the audio or something in the middle of it disappered for 20 mins. When he came back they only played for a little more. My fav band, and the WORST show I EVER went to!!! P.S. everyone's comments are intelligent and right on!

  • Every time I have seen them [4] Don has been shit faced drunk.

    Mick was good though.

  • ha...maybe this song reminds him too much of someone that causes him to drink...been there

  • when you work 9 months a year away from your family this song puts it in a nutshell

  • When you work 9 months out of the year from your wife and kids this song brings to me the real meaning.

  • La raja DOKKEN, ojala vengan alguna vez a CHILE

  • I'm impressed, after all these years the dude can still sing at a high level

  • this video was filmed in 1999. Try checking out videos from today. Not so good.

  • so nice song , this song make me cry , i can't forget many things i do was long time ...so , Dokken 4 ever

  • Great song. Enough said.

  • IM GONNA CRY

  • Dan72770, THANK YOU SOOO MUCH, for posting this vid. I just lost my husband, and I couldn't help from playing from about from 5:36 on, over & over, I never heard this version & I've added it to my favorites; will probably play it every day for a looong time. Songs like this REALLY help me, even tho they are sad, I can't help but try to find solace in music; my husband did, and he was a FANTASTIC artist, in ALL forms. He gave SO MUCH to this world. RIP my Ricky-I'll ALWAYS love you!! :'(

    "Ro-Ro"

  • Sorry for your loss. I agree with you although sad, songs like these help me and have helped me through life.

  • @Dan72770 I am going through loss too....the pain sux

  • Ro-Ro, thanks for sharing. What you have done is helped yourself and many others that will read your input. I toured for 10 years within 2 bands and i remember during down time i would listen to this song and "Faithfully" by Journey. Although yes sad, but a positive sadness that helped carry me thru when feeling down, lonley, depressed. We all at one point or another experience a "void" in our heart, and music not only soothes it, but lifts the weight of the void. "Alone" is only temporary ~

  • BlaiseRogers (& Dan), Thank you. I had a nutcase on my ass awhile back, saying that I deserved it, for NO reason! Then,he started "stalking" me thru this song, only the studio version, which is just the one I listened to first. THEN, I find out he is only a 17 year-old boy from Malaysia! But it kind of "put me off" on commenting ANYwhere, you know? Thankfully the author of the vid was VERY COOL (80sMetalGod) and he stopped him for good. Thanks you guys: you're the best!! You make me feel better.

  • Sorry to hear what happened. Dokken seems to help alot of people have been hurt.

  • @zappaloverforever I feel your pain Zappa. My best frined in college and I loved this group. When he passed away about 15 years ago, the shock was deep and long lasting. Nothing like what you have gone through but this band just hits yoru soul.. RIP Tripper.

  • @zappaloverforever I know how it is to lose someone that is close to the heart.. Ricky will rock on and so will you... Put your fist up high he will remembered... Fucken rock on..

  • @zappaloverforever God Bless you and comfort you...

  • @zappaloverforever ,sorry mam! I'm glad dokken has helped you! Dokken is a big part of our lives to! Life continues

  • @zappaloverforever oh how my heart is with you... ;(

may thegodhead bring you comfort in its milions of forms....

    L*

  • @zappaloverforever - who! what you say, feel and know is so beautiful - congratulations to a life with your love you'll never forget.....Mike

  • @zappaloverforever - whoa! what you say, feel and know is so beautiful - congratulations to a life with your love you'll never forget.....Mike

  • @zappaloverforever ...so sorry about your loss..I.look forward to a world where there is no more dying!

  • Im along again withou you

  • Reb is good , George Lynch is GOD

  • dxvolt-

    I second that.

  • I know Mr. Beach can step in and play just about anyone elses music and play it well, the guy is an amazing technical player... But, does anyone have any links they can share w/ me of some tunes he's made himself? I want to hear what's in this f'rs heart and soul now that I've been impressed w/ him for years being Axe God For Hire.

  • Wow dude did you ever hear of winger. Check it out

  • black magic blew me away, it was made for some compilation cd.

  • en vivo desde el sol .... TOCABA EN EL SOL ?

  • Learn english!

  • Reb's good, but doesn't have that special wicked sound of George...no one ever will. Lynch had that style of playing that just sounds perfect for the song. You just feel the hairs stand up anticipating a George Lynch solo!

  • lmfao.... :P

  • Luvs dis song.

  • how do you not have george lynch

  • rebel beach aint too shabby either my friend!!

  • i guess i gotta listen more ,because im always hearing about reb,i love lynch

  • so wat? reb beach did a good job too

  • there was something really cool about this band in 84 but i think they could have written more tunes :)

  • iwishicouldlivethe80;sagianseemswhenthe80sleftthebandsleft

  • WTF, no George Lynch and his nasty skull guitar? Saw these guys in the 80's in Indy w/ Krocus. A fun time was had by all.

  • The guitarist on stage for this performance is Reb Beach of Winger and Whitesnake.

  • this song is great

  • Alone again baby....... I feel so lonely whit out you....I miss you baby..... I love this song..... our song!!!

  • A W E S O M E...That's all I have to say!!!

  • GREAT SONG!!!

  • Is this band an 80's/90's band? I dont recall ever hearing this song up until a few weeks ago....

  • Yeah, if I'm right, late 80's

  • nope early 80s

  • they were all through 80s, not just the late.

  • reb beach was also with firehouse

  • i can tbelieve today jonas brothers is playing in my country and all of my friends(girls) are actually going to see it live. What happened with those wildgirls from the 80s. Fuck those gays

  • reb beach is a god, but this stinks. check him out with winger 2007 doing "17".

  • i saw Dokken at Janus Landing in St Pete Florida, I was so high and stoned and they sang this song and it blew me away

  • this line up was better than the original! The Erase the Slate cd with Reb Beach kicked fuckin ass!

  • I've always loved this song from Dokken, but it is NOT the same without George Lynch!!! Still Hanging on to that old Dokken rock~

  • the bassist can actually be jeff pilson??

  • yea. he looks weird with short hair, but yea thats him

  • Sorry, It some how feals wrong without George Lynch, It also feels wrong without Don Dokken singing this great song, my tears fall again without this great band being together again.....Like Van Halen without Roth...IMHO.

  • what song is the intro?

  • it's just an added intro they sometimes do, there are actually a few different intros over the years they have done that are similar but slightly different.

  • a true 80s classics, hail george lynce

  • Reb who? I am not being a jerk. I really do not know who you mean.

  • Reb Beach, the guitarist. He's been with numerous bands, including Poison and Winger. He's now with Whitesnake.

  • I like the effect he uses on his guitar it's more in line with UK darkwave stuff and it makes this almost goth like in a way. Still pure metal though.

  • Es lo que siento ahora. Que buena banda.

  • rock never dies!!!!!!

  • i kinda like reb's solo in this one better than lynch's i think he has more grove, and puts more soul to it, dont get me wrong george is great but he is way to techy for me. i know if i could play like him id have more vibe.

  • One of the best rock songs ever! I love singing this song the best out of thousands . Fantastic!

  • u know how i know ur gay? cuz u just said u listen to the jonas brothers

  • no lynch - no dokken. he was half the music.

  • I'm always going to argue with people saying that. Lynch is piece of shit. Dokken IS Don. Don wrote the songs. They are his. Lynch tried to be the frontman. Tried to tell the band who to listen to for inspiration. He also tried to strangle Don alot. He's a little steroid fuck. Steroids make you violent. So maybe one day, George will have a seizure or something, and think back in his last few minutes about how pathedic his stupid ass is. That may sound cruel...but look up dokken's days with him.

  • In 1985 my wife was killed in a car accident. When I pulled the cassette out of the player it was on this song at the point of the lead guitar break ...here at 4:20

    She loved this song.

    RIP Jennifer

  • I'm sorry man. Its a great song. I love to drive around at night listening to it. Just kinda ride around with no purpose, you know what I mean? I'm sure she was cool as hell...

  • troat fuck my mom? I see you are 15. You leave comments up 3 hours ago which equates to around 8:30am just before you head off to 8th grade. Fuck you kid

  • Dokken is Awesome!!! The Best!!!

  • dio is better than dokken lol but dokken is cool

  • Allways "funny" to hear you kids always have to comment, "this is good but my fav. is way better."

REAL music lovers know that every band has it's own qualities unlike most others. Dokken and Dio is both very good vocalists. Enjoy both and shut up the childish quarrel. And the the taste will always be like the ASS, split in two !!!!!

  • nice performance dokken is good vocalist but no where near as legindary as ronnie james dio

  • What the fuck does Dio have to do with this song?

  • nothing to do with this song but as a genre and vocalist dio is waaaaayyyyyyyy better but i think dokken is gratand they are a extremly underated band

  • I love this song,it goes to this girl that I'm talking to right now,she don't know how bad I love her,I wish she could know. The song is exactly the way I feel when I'm not around,or hear her voice.

  • My all time fav

  • What happens with the tempo?

  • Damn what a tension in the beginning!!!

  • OMG Awesome song and just unbelievable recording job. Awesome work.

  • I saw them live twice at the Spectrum in Philadelphia.......AWESOME! Best of ther 80's!

  • what year is this? anybody know?

  • 1985 lol

  • yea it was in that era when I graduated, that is a classic song, under appreciated , and the fact that you give it no credit is only a tribute that your a fake acting like it was no good when you know it was, I suppose your better or personally know people or a band who is. I doubt it. Give credit where credit is due and realize your pissed because you can not or will ever be that good or anyone you know be that good. You were probably listining to bananarama back then and licking it. shut up!

  • what are you talking obout i gave it a lot of credit i like dockken . i never said nothing bad about dokken i think you better read my commant again i said dokken kicks ass. so if any one is a fake it is you. so just go back to sleep

  • i just seen them last night they fuckin rocked the house they was with poison and skidrows fron man..lol..

  • all of dokken songs kick ass. love dokken and the class of 1985

  • seen them last night at the mohegan sun casino with poison and they were awsome,I graduated in 1985 and it made me feel like a kid again REAL ROCK

  • wow you must live close to me i grow up in peabody mass my teen age years and i loved dokken seen them 3 times back in the 80smy x girl friend got me into them and liked them ever since then still like them i think it was back in 82 or 83

  • grew up in new beford (pretty close)and i am going again to see them again at the pavillion in boston thursday, check it out if you can, tickets still available online,it will blow your mind

  • cool i will thanks maybe i will see you there thanks again man

  • Great song... the only one that sounded good during his acoustic tour with Queensryche. Now that he's out of rehab and had nasal surgery I cant wait to see him with full band this summer!

  • Prove it.

  • RB is great! But GL isn't out playin in winger

He's his own, no footsteps to follow but to lead music. Wicked sensation is pretty hard to beat.

  • A very interesting version, so different from the original - by the way, I've ordered the "Beast from the East"-Album a few days ago. I guess I became a real Dokken fan within the last months... ;-)

  • Don Dokken hasn't sounded that good in a LONG time. Whoa ! I love Dokken.

  • lloré

  • This is in my opinion the best Dokken tune of all time. This is the first Dokken song I ever listened to. this is the song that got me being a fan of Dokken. Beginning part the guitar part was beauitful.

  • I don't know why... George is still the best... but this song, I prefer Reb... I can't define, but his sound is offering more to me then the always solo-oriented Lynch...

  • Reb has gone ferther than geroge...reb is still playing in big bands

  • all i can say is this song live is nothing but pure justice ty 4 posting

  • lynch delivered his magic when in Dokkens Unleashed in the East album...which was the live album...Reb is good but not when compared to Lynch in this song.

  • Reb isn't as good as Lynch period. Lynch is a masterclass player. Reb hasn't reached that yet!

  • don has good vibrato on this song as for others too fast, reb well hes good but robot version of lynch still good, ''decent''

  • Oh my GOD!

    Brings me the chills...

    Fucking GREAT Version!

  • great .. even better than the original version

  • WATS THAT BEGINING PART

  • Erase the slate was by far the best dokken disc since the early days. Reb rips

  • I saw Dokken, WhiteSnake and the Scorps a couple of years ago in London ONT.

Dokken was by far the best that night followed by WhiteSnake.

    Great concert

  • ey que tal el video muy bacano lo mejor don dekken eres un mostro y cuando estaran por colombia

  • reb is great, but it is not george lynch. sorry. i saw dokken open up for queensryche in 1984 and they fucking rocked.

  • wow, now i remember why i liked these guys so much. i saw them open up for aerosmith must have been 1989 or so, they blew aerosmith away. very hard to do

  • I love Reb Beach!!! he great and an incredible guitarist, but without George it is just not Dokken.

  • No knock on Reb, he can shred...but this performance misses George bigtime. Too bad, because Don sings his ass off and Jeff's harmonies are dead on.

  • does anybody know what year this is??

  • 1995

  • not really. there still goog live...george did bring magic tho

  • Not the same w/o George. The magic is gone.

  • Dokken had so many great songs, Sleepless Nights, Into the Fire, Burnin like a Flame, Dream Warriors, etc I wish I was old enough to had seen them live when they were in their prime in the mid 80's

  • 80s metal please comeback and save us fromn this rap and happy copy helloween malmsteen era of heavy rock. 80s leather, tight jeans and mullets!

  • bra

  • Lynch ,and Reb are 2 special guitar players! 2 Giants no comment...

  • buy there live album...has piano intro

    much better than this version
