I am so sorry all this is happening to you and your daughter. This economy is so horrible, I just feel so sorry for the families who have lost their houses to foreclosure, etc. I will keep you in my prayers.
You should look into staying at Extended Stay Hotels. It's a hotel but the rooms have full kitches and stoves. That's where I work on weekends and we rent by the month for 600.00 they are a national chain. It's a better alternative than motel 6
This is definitely strange, but not surprising...so many odd things are going on these days with jobs, apartments...here in NYC they've gotten stricter as well. I don't know what advise I could give you, other than just keep trying and something will eventually work out, never give up OR give in.
