@1undeadskater1 My rogue at 388 avg ilvl, with all cds popped, pulls up to 55k on a raid boss. I don't know what your ilvl is, but if it is anywhere near 388, you're doin somethin dreadfully wrong.
@MrImenand I have almost full 376 gear, I keep instant poison on main hand and deadly on off-hand. If it a boss, I stick on vendetta, if not I leave it to my normal rotation. My rotation is stealth>garrote>slice 'n' dice> mutilate> Mutilate> rupture>Mutilate>envenom>Mutilate>mutilate>envenom>mutilate>mutilate>rupture. And once the target reaches below 35% health, the mutilates are replaced with back stabs.
@1undeadskater1 ITs differend from class to class and armor, if you got full pvp tier 13 and season 10 or 11 daggers, you may crit 39k as rogue. but rogues have much poison abilities and take much of opponents hp.
My highest crit ever i did was 48k with my dk. But i have seen mages that crit 72k and over...
Also, on bosses that last long, break stealth with garrote, and when garrote is over, vanish >garrote once again, due to the dps boost you get from energy regen on bleed effects from a talent..... and because it will be out of cooldown 3 minutes later when the boss is at or below 35%

@Jigjaguo Assassination was my favourite spec and i hate combat witha passion, but i play sub on the 1st 4 bosses. I may now try assassination but im sure that it wont work due to the gear needing very different stats to combat and sub is closer to combats stats so ill need 2 sets of gear. So i will prolly stick to combat unfortunatly
@xoxWozzeRxox Well, With reforging in the game the base stats on gear doesn't matter to hell of a lot. Obviously you wont get as many stats from reforging, but you can warp your gear to fit other specs, so its not as bad as you think to switch specs with the same gear.
@Jigjaguo tbh, i dont just reforge, ill re-enchant and re-gem so it is more expensive than i cba to spend, plus assassination from looking at logs is a few K dps lower than combat on most fights, due to target swapping with adds ect.
@Jigjaguo LOL! Combat is the best period. If you're a Rogue and you plan on getting the legendarys combat will surpass the other two specs. The ability to spam Eviscerate for 6 seconds unbeatable. You might ask why well the ability Restless Blades. Since this reduces the CD's on most of the Rogues Primary abilties, means more uptime on AR, KS, and even Redirect. Redirect is a solid dps CD to transfer Bandit G to another target. Enjoy Assassination and Sub while it's still comparable to combat!
@dmears357 I never argued that Assassination will surpass combat when the legenaries are avaiiable, I'm well aware that combat will do better with the ability to spam the hell out of Evis. But for the time being, From my personal experiance, Assassination has been better for me, Simply because I know how to play it to its fullest. I've been bounsing between the tow specs quite a bit, But for now I'm sticking with Mut. In the future i'll end up switching.

I'm not sure if there is an option for that or not but, try looking for that. If you can't find it then you might just need to DL a seperate Combo point mod or what ever. I've never really had a problem with it but now that you mention it they do look a little... bland.
@TiberiusArms15 honestly i don't think it makes a difference, I like to put rupture up to get the energy regen/damage proc, but alot of people argue that you should get SnD up first to get your attack speed up quicker. I really don't think it makes a difference cause i;ve tried both and niether seem to be better thne the other.
Why is your dps so low? You're doing the right rotation and your gear is good, stats look good but only 14k? I'm doing 20k on the direbrew fight in pvp gear. On a dummy self buffed I can still hold 16k. With the amount of hit and mastery you have you should be doing 18 or 19k. Also why do you use instant on mh? If you put deadly on mh when it hits 5stacks it automaticly triggers your oh instant poison, and helps stack poison faster for 5pt envenoms.
@foozybearz Because back when I did this I was still kinda learning, but its a good guide non the less. And having inst on MH or deadly doesn't matter, IT will always proc your other poison no matter what hand its on if you have 5 stacks of deadly. And in the gear i have now i pull 25-30k on direbrew, and 18-19 on dummies self buffed.

@foozybearz you put instant on MH because improved poisons increase the chance to proc instant poison by 50% but deadly by 20%, since you hit more with your mh then your oh, instant poison ticks a lot more. So no, it's not the same and main hand instant is much better for how many times it procs ^_^

@Jigjaguo However I do agree with that one person, you should make a video to show how you set up your elv, mines pretty crappy and bland. Its a great addon but I can never figure out how to completely customize it :)
ok i guess my biggest question is you have 3/3 precision which gives you +6% hit on poisions and attacks ..so why did you bring your hit to damn near 18% when it should cap at 11 - 12% (because of the 6% from precision). Granted the hit tooltip will not show this, dw frost DKs have a similiar thing with a +3% hit talent it does effect us however the tooltip just doesnt show it.
@Jigjaguo I meant it the other way around. If he's only hitting 19k he really needs to play a DK or something more suited to his obvious low level of skill.

ummmm so why no glyph of trix of the trade, even if ur like the worst rogue ever and only use tot like once its still a dps upgrade, also sap provides little to no raid functionality, if u really need a 2 minute sap then ur comp is completely wrong, plus most people just grab the sapped target first after the non ccs are dead

The trix glyph is useless. Because it lowers the damage output on the target by 5% and the 15 energy is such a small amount that there is no point.
I never said i used tricks only once durring a fight, I use it off CD most of hte time unless i see no point in using it, And with the 4 set bonus of t12 it will make it so much more worth it. I may switch from sap to trix when i get 4/5 t12.
@deathreaper758 But for now, Loosing 5% on tricks makes the glyph next to useless, and if you have problems getting 15 energy then your obviously doing it wrong.
@Jinxit85 At low levels don't bother with the rotation simpley because ambush hits so hard. but at higher levels garrote will give you more of a dps increase

@MrSspritee Well, at the time, there was no point in going for expertice as assassination, cause you would lose too many other important stats to get the cap.
And in my 10m raids i useually pull anywhere from 12-17k depending on the fight.
Sometimes more if there are other factors involved
@rainx0209 I didn't go to that dummy to try and pull more DPS. I went to that Dummy because it is the only training dummy in the entire game you can get below 35%, Which is essential for rogues, because when a mob/boss is below 35% HP, your backstab refunds half it its energy.
If you can't use backstab then there is no point to even try your full rotation on a raiding dummy. You should just go kill bosses, or test your DPS in random dungeons.
@WorldofSensus I do have a UI video up if you want to see what all the addons i'm using are, but the ui i'm using is called ElvUI. I'm pretty sure you can get it from Curse or Wowinterface
I love to play as Muti because it is so beautiful when the executioner phase come, you start spamming 25k backstabs which cost 30 energy, DPS is awesome in that phase. Use that with trinkets, vendetta, BL and Tol Vir potion and your numbers go to heaven
which talent points make Rupture refresh by using Eviscerate and Envenom in Assassination?
I only saw for refresh slice and dice in Assassination.

@SaiLinHan The only talent that does that is in Sub way down near the bottem. Serated Blades. In Assassination you have to refresh rupture manually.

Cause the buttons on my action bar are just macros to make the buttons look how i want them to look, and the darker borders on stuff is from Elv UI.

@Jigjaguo However I do agree with that one person, you should make a video to show how you set up your elv, mines pretty crappy and bland. Its a great addon but I can never figure out how to completely customize it :)

ok i guess my biggest question is you have 3/3 precision which gives you +6% hit on poisions and attacks ..so why did you bring your hit to damn near 18% when it should cap at 11 - 12% (because of the 6% from precision). Granted the hit tooltip will not show this, dw frost DKs have a similiar thing with a +3% hit talent it does effect us however the tooltip just doesnt show it.

@Dathgarion No i'm pretty sure it shows up with the talent, And if it doesn't then blizz has a problem to fix.
but i'm pretty sure it add's the 6% onto your hit % on the tooltip.

@Jigjaguo Yeah I can confirm that it does add the hit onto your stats - it never used to, but they updated that in one of the patches.

ummmm so why no glyph of trix of the trade, even if ur like the worst rogue ever and only use tot like once its still a dps upgrade, also sap provides little to no raid functionality, if u really need a 2 minute sap then ur comp is completely wrong, plus most people just grab the sapped target first after the non ccs are dead

@deathreaper758 I don't want to have this discution again, because it had no possative outcome but....
The trix glyph is useless. Because it lowers the damage output on the target by 5% and the 15 energy is such a small amount that there is no point.
I never said i used tricks only once durring a fight, I use it off CD most of hte time unless i see no point in using it, And with the 4 set bonus of t12 it will make it so much more worth it. I may switch from sap to trix when i get 4/5 t12.

@deathreaper758 But for now, Loosing 5% on tricks makes the glyph next to useless, and if you have problems getting 15 energy then your obviously doing it wrong.

Hi, I'm leveling an Assasination Rogue at this moment, he is ~level 55. I find Ambush more useful than Garrote, maybe this is because of my level?

@Jinxit85 At low levels don't bother with the rotation simpley because ambush hits so hard. but at higher levels garrote will give you more of a dps increase

@MrSspritee Well, at the time, there was no point in going for expertice as assassination, cause you would lose too many other important stats to get the cap.
And in my 10m raids i useually pull anywhere from 12-17k depending on the fight.
Sometimes more if there are other factors involved

Dude, next time make the video at a raid dummy, not a lvl 80 just because you want to make it look like more dps then it really is.

@rainx0209 I didn't go to that dummy to try and pull more DPS. I went to that Dummy because it is the only training dummy in the entire game you can get below 35%, Which is essential for rogues, because when a mob/boss is below 35% HP, your backstab refunds half it its energy.
If you can't use backstab then there is no point to even try your full rotation on a raiding dummy. You should just go kill bosses, or test your DPS in random dungeons.

I love to play as Muti because it is so beautiful when the executioner phase come, you start spamming 25k backstabs which cost 30 energy, DPS is awesome in that phase. Use that with trinkets, vendetta, BL and Tol Vir potion and your numbers go to heaven
