You actually had me talking to my computer. For three minutes I was saying to my screen, "I think you're supposed to press a number....press 1....no, press 1....come on press it...It's gotta be the number buttons....come on!!!!" LOL.
I have one that my Aunt had since we were kids. It is amazing we only needed odd shaped circles eating dots to entertain us. One of her game cartridges was titled computer intro and I guessing that is what the keyboard is for. She also had a Ventrex. I am going to try and hook it up to my TV and I think I can hook that Co-Axle thing up to the TV. It has been ages since I have done anything like this. Thanks for video. Can use all the help I can get.
@9000pivot I am not sure who ripped off who, but most video game systems had a dot eating game back then the Ventrex called it MoneyBags. Some of the games were really funny.
It uses the same adapter as the NES and Sega Genesis. So if you have either of those, you can swap with those consoles. From personal experience I'm using my genesis (model 1) adapter and it works fine, and nes one I think would work too.
we just dug mine out of the shed. It's been stored forever. Have tons of games with all the manuals but can't get it to work. don't know what is wrong with it
Those joysticks were actually the second version of the original silver ones. The silver ones were also built into the console but had no 8-way dividers - just a square box you'd move the joystick around in.
We actually had to send the console back to E. Orange, NJ to replace the joysticks after two solid years of beating the hell out of them! It was a long wait, but when it came back, we actually got a newer console with the third version of the black/red sticks and these had PLUGS! :)
I found one of these in someones garbage last summer, in the box! Looks like it's in good shape but for some reason I never got around to checking it out to see if it works, I hope it does. No games with it though, for the price I can't complain.
I had one of those that my dad got from a Thrift Store, and it was completely non-functional. Thanks for this vid, now I get to see how it works! 5 stars
i dont know if you know this or not but on the game cartridges in says press 1. most say press 1 but in the case of KC munchkin and other games it says press 1-4 1-5 ect ect to select different difficulties or on some cartridges, different games. Also the keyboard and function keys are used for educational/math games and some fun games. i have a multi-game cartridge. one game is a game where you type a word and it scrambles it and another player needs to guess the word and it counts their mistak
I saw some odyssey 2 SEALED games in a video game store where I lived (but now game consoles) I was surprised..sealed wow..I may get a odyssey now for kc munchkin and others. =D. Great funny review.
OMG, I had this 'console' back in the days, (i'm only 31) but it rocked!!! Math o magic made math so fun! The keyboard was really only used for the learning games...when all elese fails, just push all the buttons!! Invaders from Hyperspace is friggin' addicting!!! Love it! *Memories*
i still own one of these things from back in 1982, about 30 games. Games like Take the Money and Run, War of Nerves, and I've Got Your Number have some pretty interesting glitches. Push each other through the walls or into the box with contains your score!
im bidding at this very time on a particular auction site(you know the one)for a Magnavox system with about fourteen games all boxed, wish me luck everybody, BTW CGR what video camera do you use for the bulk of the vids you do? As I am looking for recomendations on an all round mid range camera to start uploading my own vids & I was impressed by the quality of the close up on the coaxial adapter ,Cheers..
I used to have that system. There were several games that i liked. Pick axe pete, war of the worlds, kc munchkins crazy chase, UFO... and others that slip my mind. Great memories.
The point is that he doesn't choose two consoles to compare based on technical capabilities, but because of other similarities. For example, the PS2 and Atari 2600 were both the most popular consoles of their time. I imagine that the Dreamcast and the O2 are being compared because they were both consoles with tremendous potential which never had a chance to shine because they were overshadowed by the competition.
Mark did I teach you nothing about the O2. I thought that as a fan of the Atari 2600 you would have kown to look on the cart for the game selection lol. Good stuff man, now for the game reviews.
Umm, fail... I guess. I'm not quite sure what you were trying to do so... Good job, maybee..?

I must admit that the complete and total confusion that the keyboard causes him is very funny and very entertaining, haha.

Not a loose AC adapter. I'd have to buy the whole set, which would cost a fortune.

@Chordonblue The non-divider controllers actually sound better in that respect. Aren't the dividers awkward?

So let's see, you press the reset button in the case that the SELECT GAME lettering does not appear on the screen.
ENTER button to enter a game when SELECT GAME is displayed on the screen, then press 1 to start the game from the {Insert Game Title Here} menu.
