Most nights calling it 'hip hop' music should really say they play rap music. Hip hop is all about taking some music from another genre and making it hip hop or making something fresh completely new never heard before, i.e. in death mix 2 where dj jazzy jay took yellow magic orchestra or herbie hancock and looped, scratched and there was an MC rapping, that is hip hop. Not someone rapping over the same 808 that's rap music with no soul.
