  • j-roc and tyrone up in this paayyce

  • sometimes i consider him the timbaland of the 80s... cause he brought a sound that was never invented before, collected it from influences of kraftwerk, 808's, and orchestral hits... he was one of the first to do that back then, not sure cause i wasn't alive in the 80s, but my entire life this song has been the core-point of my passion for MUSIC. this was the first song that moved me as a child of the 90s. 10 years later i'm an aspiring DJ, producer, & choreographer. all because of this ONE song

  • THAT-SHIT-WAS-HOT!!!!

  • DAMN!!! next year will be the 30th anniversary birth of this song!

  • fuck LMFAO

    this the business here...

  • pure electro

  • Peace, Love, Unity & Having Fun!

  • only 650,416 views D:

  • This song is featured in ....

Party music: undefinable mix part 6 of 6 (Kung Waldemar)

  • its gon be a day in the making when bambaata dies!!! it will be history

  • Planet Rock....."talkin 'bout the place that creates yet demolishes" We're in the "domolish" part at this time.

  • My thing is.... how the hell did they get these sounds in the late 1970s? They amongst Kraftwerk were the only 2 people who composed sounds like these... Technology is 50x more advanced then what they had, yet they made better sounds then we did.

  • SHIT!Now THIS WAS AND IS the only real HIP HOP we should recognize and respect and of course the N.W.A!

  • you say kings of leon - i say afrika bambaataa

you say korn - i say freestyle

you say lady gaga - i say planet patrol

you say war of ages - i say pretty tony

you say 009 system - i say debbie deb

you say justin bieber - i say the egyptian lover

you say gangsta rap - i say ELECTRO

100% of teens today have no idea what this music is. always asking whats that song name on videos. get it together ppl, if it wasnt for this kind of music there would be no hip-hop today.

  • @djcountry1985 A I do!! I here this more then all this new music talking about guns, sex, drugs, gangs, and power. Hip hop in the 80s was the best time in history of music. I dont know how this happened but it later on turned to rap which is way different from this. This music never gets old. Rap gets old and boring. Without this, you wouldnt have djs or bboys just little fagets jerking thinking their music makes sense. We know yur a jerk get over it.

  • @djcountry1985

Word! That is the difference between people who make music and those who innovate. Chances are Lady Gaga and everyone else on that list is probably into the classics and innovators that you named but they just never admit it.

  • that beat is still the most sampled and created beat to this day

  • this is electro

  • Im doing the breakdance in my desk in this moment!

  • Man, this is the soul sonic force! Love it!:)

  • Kraftwerk is better.

  • amazing.

  • This is original hip hop..........unbeatable...

  • eminem is like the other rappers nothing special. i believe that THIS is special!

  • @jaehami

Sounds like you're speaking about Vanilla Ice, not Eminem

Lets think about it.. do you really believe there's nothing special about how hard a pasty white Caucasian would have to work to carve out a niche for himself in a musical genre which was (prior to Eminem's 'arrival') totally dominated by ethnic Africans? Oh yeah, sounds like a real cakewalk.

Eminem didn't just prove his credibility, he was fresh, humorous, original; a lyrical genius.

But what do Dr. Dre & Snoop know, right?

    :p

  • lol ^^

  • old school always kick ass

  • finally i find this song i remember it from the 90s in the skatin rink. we will never see good music like this again. rip music

  • Most imortant: the melody is Kraftwerk. The rhytmh is Kraftwerk

  • He is a HIP HOP GOD period, when you look at hip hop history he brought unity of all people together, nobody else has ever done that.Look where hip hop is now, many people think that hip hop is not about black or white thats the mentality he brought much respect for AFrika JAH LivES

  • This is electro..old electro funk! Not hip hop!

  • @Damir4d idiot!!!!!!

  • @thebattleweapon

yes ur an idiot! If you say that this is hip hop than you are music retard!

  • @Damir4d Idiot, retard asshole, blahblahblah....

suck ma diktion, you brainless ignorant

  • @Damir4d u kno da HIP HOP history? if u don´t kno what u r talkin please shut the fuck up and get a dick on ur ass.......please

  • What the fuck. I knew that bollywood stole alot of ideas from America for movies but damn, Stealing the classic beats too?

  • Where is the URL?

  • Isso foi um grande passo pro Hip Hop!!!

  • yall dont know ur history. afrika bambaata and others created hip hiop in 1976. then the first actually rap song was rapper's delight in 1979. then in 1982 bambaataa created a new sound called electric-funk and breakdanced all across america

  • no mate, the track ruby,by silver apples, and hot butter,s pop corn was before autobahn.

  • this is such a cool track :P I love it because it was in nba 2k7

  • @

    TheQwerty616

    Scarface the video game

  • wasn't this song in a video game

  • NBA 2K8 on the ps3 + xbox 360

  • Killer boots...

  • I love Kraftwerk and think Afrika Bambaataa's take on their song Trans Europa Express is great. He was the right man/fan to spread the word about them in USA.

  • Damn, Makes me wanna go get my skates and Jam Skate to this and shit I'm the best in the rink and I'm only 15..HA

  • @Bobble20 doubt it

  • I like classic RAP. This is very famous in the same way in Japan.

My own composition tune "IKARING" Influenced by this.

  • buena la rola de los bambaataa

  • I can jump-rope real fast to this song

  • first electro song?¿?¿

  • No way. This song is pretty much completely stolen from Kraftwerk.

  • @anormalnick

Kraftwerk is arguable the first electronic band.

And Kraftwerk's first song was Autobahn so i guess you could call Autobahn the first 'electro song'

  • Long ago, I saw a documentary that explained this.

The video said "this is the first electro song of all time"..

too hard to guess which was the first real one, wasnt there to know it..

  • @zebingo

hi,i have the first kraftwerk album, wich is called "kraftwerk",it includes the songs"ruckzuck, stratovarius, megaherz and vom himmel hoch".this album was recordet in 1970,so i think u r wrong,"autobahn" is made in 1977!

    greets from berlin

  • @zebingo

    sorry,"autobahn"was originally recordet in 1974!

the melody baambata use`s was from the sond called"trans europe express"

  • Most nights calling it 'hip hop' music should really say they play rap music. Hip hop is all about taking some music from another genre and making it hip hop or making something fresh completely new never heard before, i.e. in death mix 2 where dj jazzy jay took yellow magic orchestra or herbie hancock and looped, scratched and there was an MC rapping, that is hip hop. Not someone rapping over the same 808 that's rap music with no soul.

  • electric-funk is back in style. check out the new egyptian lover album, dynamik bass system album and the new debonaire album

  • wow you are so right but you do have some true hip hop artist of today outkast goodie mob obliviongreen know what im talkin bout those dudes are hip hop

  • @Amar45455 you've obviously never listened to eminem.. eminem IS hip-hop.. and its sad to say but he's the last rapper that focuses on making serious rap songs to save the rap game... he's as good as TUPAC and BIG..... and thats not just M opion, that half the world's opinion.. except peope dont take him serious cuz hes white until they listen to him and they realize how fuckensavage he is

  • @jumpingjuan123 i dont i believe eminem is above average but remember people liking you doesn't make you good just look at lil wayne loved by america but hes absolutely terriible. Guess wat the top selling rap album of all time is.........its vannila ices first album

  • @kuissi0 so are you saying that eminem is absolutely terrible?

i bet you've only listened to like 3 or 4 of hi songs... go listen to some of his song s from his debut album and tell me that he is not a lyrical savage man....

the planet rockk song is famous for its beat and melody, not its lyrics... but eminem is known for his lyrics, not his beats... that shouws that he is a TRUE rapper and you just CANT compare that faggot lil wayne with eminem

  • @jumpingjuan123 i own every eminem cd my comment is suppose to say i do believe hes above average only above average because he sold out

  • @kuissi0 w/e man... everybody has their opinion... my opinionn is:

    1. that the greatest rappers in history are biggie smalls and eminem....

    2. most of the new rappers starting from like 2004 are pretty gay and only have like one big hit and then its over lol

    3. planet rock is famous for its beat not its acutall lyrics.. therefore you cant say they are better than eminem because what made this song famous is its beat... and the beat is not even theirs lol its a sample from "transeuropxpress"

  • @jumpingjuan123 ...WOW.

  • @PumasNFatLaces dont get me wrong... i think afrika bambaata group is one of the founders of rap.. and probably my favorite hip hop GROUP... but the dude i was arguing with went on to say that eminem is gay and he's like new rappers and shit... when he's been rapping for like 10 years now..... someone who;s been rapping for 10 years is NOT a new rapper lol

  • @jumpingjuan123 Eminem... are you serious? Eminem is not even top 25. Eminem added nothing unique to rap other than demographics. Biggie Smalls... he's up there. His flow was unmatched. I remember the when rap started in the late 70s and saw the evolution of it.

  • @kuissi0, how'd he sell out?

  • @jumpingjuan123 eminem is nothing compared to this old school gold. I don't that Tupac and Biggie can compare with Africa Bambatta or Grandmaster Flash and the furious five, Bambatta and Flash would kill them.

  • @Amar45455 Peace Ahki / King!

  • Hey DJ! Gimme somethin 2 dance 2! YYYYYYEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!

  • In this song there are 2 songs from kraftwerk!!!

  • yeah. because of this they had been sued.

  • IS Afrika Bambaataa hip hop or is hip hop Afrika Bambaataa ????

  • all of the above babe.

  • I'd say both..lol

  • lmfao

  • YouTurk65:

    kraftwerk is hip hop :-P

  • @YouTurk65 hip-hop was created i nthe south bronx of 1976 and the first actually rap song to make it on a radio or album was sugarhill gang - rapper's delight and then comes bambaataa he pionered breakdance/electro-funk

  • @YouTurk65 True?!

  • afrika bambaataa the god father of hip hop!

  • Everybody Knows Bambaataa didnt create Hip-Hop, but Afrika did help form what hip hop is today!

  • truth

  • kult

  • I have to do a presentation on the comparisons and contrasts of this legend and p diddy:(...If anyone has any suggestions in the comparison dprtmnt plzzzzz comment me:)

  • Bambaataa often comments on the influence Kreftwerk had on him.

  • ça ne nous rajeunit pas ça

  • YEA

    ROCKT

  • ooo i remember this video from long time ago!

  • he did take this from trans europe express but just speed it up a lil bit and for all u ppl that don't know, this is the first breakdance song ever, but hip-hop was born in 1976 in the bronx with dj's and random ppl on the mic

  • the beat is from kraftwerk's numbers and also captain sky record i believe? and the melody is from trans europe express and another record on the break/bridge

it's like sampling before samplers were widely available the sampler used was mainly presets from a fairlite computer that in '81 cost 30,000?! (famous orch5 preset)

  • the beat is not just the melody

  • great shit

  • of course this is hip hop.

where do you think every type of techno music came from? mixing different beats.

break beats need to make a comeback.

  • LOOK UP! kraftwerk - trans europe express

  • Too bad the audio quality sucks :-/

  • shit this is prety good, must of been remastered

  • NEVER AGAIN U FEEL THIS REAL FUNK!!! i LOVE U 4 THAT. FOREVER IN MY HEART TILL DEATH!!! A-TOWN SOLDJA

  • this inspired both electro and hiphop as well as house and techno.

    keep your ignorance to yourself.

  • just google Afrika Bambaataa. and read it yourself

  • Electro-Hop to be exact carnal..

    and fuck that foo guyzlzME

  • its hip hop. afrika bambaataa is widely credited to putting together break beats- what hip hop was based on

  • bambaataa defined hip-hop as unlimited music and topics as long as you could rhyme to a beat

hip-hop and electro were two terms used to describe the same music in this time period

another example is where someone will say techno started with cybotron "clear" in detroit when very similar musically to "planet rock"

it was also called electro-funk by bambaataa

  • This shit's what started hip hop.

  • this is a HEAVY tune. i wish i could breakdance

  • kraftwerk -trans europe express

  • this is vintage old school hip hop right here

  • it's not alternative hiphop, this is old school..

  • 1º CMA

  • there is more than four elements of hip hop.

  • like this alternative hip-hop :D

  • ROCK

  • Awesome song!

  • Old School ROCKS !

  • ajajaj que recuerdosss

  • Reminds me of break dancing. What a great ground breaking track. Also listen to Kraftwerks Tour De France featured in "Breaking the Movie".

  • yeah man i never knew this beat was from him but i heard the beat 1000times in breakdance videos n stuff..

  • the first time i heard this, it just blew me away. i wanted to know everything about making electro funk. i saved all my paper round money and got a very cheap synth and a 4 track lol.

  • lil wayne- yea develop (pump that bass) is the same as this

  • so is commons universal mind control. a little bit.

  • this was the 1st hip song

  • wrong. grandmaster flash - the message WAS the first "hip hop" song.

  • Are you crazy, The Mesage wasn't the first rap song. Rappers Delight 1979 was the fist populair HipHop song. That means there're raps song before that.

  • Agreed

  • thats totally nonsense

  • Comment removed
