@brit4a Kenny is a great guy. So is his wife. I think you would love the information and support from the Montgomery county TX beekeepers association. For more info and to attend a meeting go to texasbeekeepersDOTorg/details/montgomery-county-beekeepers-association
Awesome! I ordered my bees from Rossman Apiaries and they are supposed to be shipped next week so I hope to have them in a couple of weeks. My hive box is ready to go and just waiting for my bees to get home. I'll shoot a video and post it when I get them in the mail. Thanks for the great video.
@LDSPrepper Yes, I'll shoot a video of my beehive this weekend and post it with the location I picked and how I have it configured. I opted for a nectar jar in the front and will have a small opening for the first few weeks so they have a smaller entrance to defend until the colony numbers rise sufficiently to defend a larger entrance to the hive.
@IllianaPrepper They are a blast to watch. It is wonderful having them in the backyard where I can walk out several times during the day and sit and watch them. They are amazing.
@survivaleveryday Yes. The beekeeping starter kit my wife got me for Christmas included a book entitled, "Backyard Beekeeper". It is excellent. So is the DVD that came with the kit. I also highly recommend finding a local city or county beekeeping association.
@LDSPrepper Beekeeper kit, where did she find it. You wife sound like a very cool wife. With the bees you really are being a conservator of nature.. keep up the great work my friend.
Look into a "top bar hive", they are great. My Dad and brother both have one and love them. They open up like a grill. I just watched my bro spin out almost 4 gallons yesterday out of just 10 frames. Bees are incredible...

Great video, I dont know if I comfortable handling them myself. I dont even know if I could have them in my neighborhood. I dought that I would be able to, I think that it would be a real benifit to everyone especially those with gardens in my area. Keep us up to date on how you are doing with this project.
It is truly amazing that he can work w/o gloves. He handled those bee's as if they were diamonds and they (the bee's) let him. It was as if the bee's knew he is their provider. Awesome video, thank you for sharing. I would like to learn more and see updates to your new hives and see how things progress. Mark
@BKSinAZ Honey bees are not aggressive. Like you they only protect themselves, not attack. Since we are considerate of them and are moving the entire hive together they don't really mind. Kindness goes a long way, even in the insect world.
Great video! Bees kinda freak me out a bit though, I would probably feel more comfortable in the whole beekeeping suit too! Good luck with them. Maybe you could make a little video about where you set them up and some of the daily/weekly/monthly (whichever it is) care you give them? Thanks again!
@smh3w I will make more videos of the hive, how I manage it, daily routes, etc. I hope to get input from other keepers and share the great hobby of beekeeping.
@tomyhill123 I don't know. I sure would hope so. You can call them and ask if they have anything going on as far as food storage training, etc. I am sure they would love to help.
Yep talked to John Hicks hope to make this months meeting.
