I bought this Lp when it first came out....Just cruising in my 67 Beetle with my cassette deck in 1972...I recorded this Lp on tape and played my in my car deck...way before my time..others using 8trac...all the other fools wanted to borrow my tape...I would say, " SORRY, cassettte tape...just a great album...
Steve Harris from Iron Maiden once spoke very highly of this band, so I decided to check them out. I'm sure glad that I did because this band is beyond amazing!
I saw Uriah Heep's very first show in America when they opened for 3 Dog Night at the Indianapolis Coliseum. I think I was the only person in the audience that knew who they were. The next time they came they were head liners and I interviewed Ken for my college radio station, in the bathroom backstage. It was wonderful.
@indymagicmonthly23 Are you still in Indy? I live in Inday and am from UHs generation. We should hook up in a Starbucks or something one day and share some stories! :)
"Traveller in Time"!! Well I must be..lol..because I sure have no other way to explain how I got to be so damned old when I feel so young!! Thanks for posting!! P.S : Cheers to us old folk for all the fun and happy comments!!
@dandbfan I feel the same way :) Call me a fellow "OLD-FART" who knows more about pot and acid trips than anyone in today's generation will EVER know!
Back when this was brand new, I couldn't get anyone to listen to it with me. They thought I was a loser because I loved U. H. and didn't get into disco like everyone else. I knew who the real losers were; just took them longer to realize it.
@aforgivenone let me tell You something; i'm the only one in my: and my wifes family that likes this type of music, and i'm 73. one of my cousins told me; i was living in a time warp. I am, and proud of it!!!
I love this and as much as I love the soft and mystical side of uriah heep as a metal fan I like the heavier side of them even more. This song and easy living have gotta be my favorites for that reason.
reminds me of my heroin days back in the vietnam days!! so glad there gone now but still suffer,
