@ThePearlofeire The purpose for marriage is not strictly for procreation. Sometimes its purpose is simply to let a couple legally share insurance, property, money, etc. Sometimes its a way that a couple chooses to finalize their relationship and show their love for one another, which usually leads to babies anyway. It all depends on the couple. Gay people want to marry for the same reasons straight people do (with adoption or a surrogate mother/father if the couple wants a kid).

Marriage does not mean you want to have children with that person. Marriage means that regardless of what comes in the future, you are making the commitment to stay with that person. I did not need my father there to help teach me anything my mother couldnt, my brother either. They might not have a mother and could get mocked for that, they might have other mental issues that they could be teased about. But there are other alternatives for them. They could be home schooled. It gets easier in their teen years (with the right parenting) because they learn to understand more.

@qsmith007 There was this boy who was raised in a very religious household. He was going out with girls and dating etc..when he found out he was gay, he tried to kill himself. His mother was very religious and she tried to "turn him away from the homosexual sin inside him". After a whole 2 years of intensive counselling and prayer, he jumped off a bridge because his mother said "I will not have a Gay son". Her plan for her family was to all meet in heaven together.

In some ancient societies homosexual behavior was widely practiced and not condemned at all. I'd say there's no such thing as "traditional values." It may seem superficially similar to be "against" homosexuality and "for" it but those are hugely different concepts. People who aren't against homosexuality aren't "for" homosexuals. Those people simply don't care about sexuality. Being against homosexuality takes an effort to discriminate against an innate part of people. Our society condones all forms of discrimination.

Sometimes its purpose is simply to let a couple legally share insurance, property, money, etc. Sometimes its a way that a couple chooses to finalize their relationship and show their love for one another, which usually leads to babies anyway. It all depends on the couple. Gay people want to marry for the same reasons straight people do (with adoption or a surrogate mother/father if the couple wants a kid).

They might not have a mother and could get mocked for that, they might have other mental issues that they could be teased about. But there are other alternatives for them. But, "corners" refers to the four cardinal points (north, east, south and west), while the "edges" means that Eastern and Western horizons. Anyway you can believe whatever you want.

@qsmith007 There was this boy who was raised in a very religious household. He was going out with girls and dating etc..when he found out he was gay, he tried to kill himself. His mother was very religious and she tried to "turn him away from the homosexual sin inside him". After a whole 2 years of intensive counselling and prayer, he jumped off a bridge because his mother said "I will not have a Gay son". Her plan for her family was to all meet in heaven together.

The mother found peace with her sons death because she knew there was nothing wrong with him because she believe that God made him that way. That's what she believed strongly anyway..

In some ancient societies homosexual behavior was widely practiced and not condemned at all. I'd say there's no such thing as "traditional values." If you're talking about anti-gay values, that's completely different. It's certainly not traditional or an admirable value to hold. Homosexuality is an innate part of many people.

@Energyone To answer your question more clearly, I'll simply say that people do not like discrimination. It may seem superficially similar to be "against" homosexuality and "for" it but those are hugely different concepts. People who aren't against homosexuality aren't "for" homosexuals. Those people simply don't care about sexuality. Being against homosexuality takes an effort to discriminate against an innate part of people. Our society condones all forms of discrimination.
