The only time ever Bond expressed any kind of concern what Q will think about him getting equipment destroyed. Ironicly this happened *after* Major Boothroyd make his final screen appearance.
Although his last appearance was before this scene, I do remember that there was a documentry presented by John Cleese about Q's gadgets after "The World is not enough" was released. At the beginning I remember he picked up the BMW Z8 steering wheel and said: "Could you explain, 007, what happened to the rest of this?" Or something like that, but then again, it wasn't actually Desmond Llewelyn's Q saying that :/
