@LLOYD19851012 Absolutely I can. In fact the reason I became Christian was because of the changes God made in my life. To name a few, my friend was healed of fibromyalgia after suffering for 5 years. She came to Christ, and during our winter retreat, we prayed over her, and it completely left her. Doctors are needless to say a little baffled. I've had many times where I cried out to God to stop the rain, save me from a dog, save me while i was drowning, help my dad find a job, and He answered.

I was a christian when my friend was in a car accident, me and my entire church prayed for weeks while he was in the hospital until he succumbed to his injuries, why did god answer your prayers and not mine? Second, I believe that science and faith intertwine very much so. I believe that Adam and Eve were monkeys and evolved over life. Do I know enough about science to continue from there? No, I suck at science. But considering what I do know, I think that science and faith belong together, because what is one without the other? @scathman321 There is no way to logically infer that citing minor genetic variation within a species disproves the existence of Adam and Eve. Scripture lists animals in "kinds" not specific species. Therefore it still stands to reason that Humans are of a different "kind". Besides, whether a person is white or black, would you not still list them as Homo sapien?
@scathman321 all races were created over a period of time and the climate. obviously the black people have a darker complexion for the climate over in africa and people in europe are lighter because of that climate and so on.... but it doesnt mean that adam and eve were white. most likely they were Mediterranean/ middle eastern because most of the events take place over there. hope that helps. god bless america

There are other examples of Greek words which mean slightly different things in english (different from their literal translation).

Anti-theist is the active opposition of theism. It has same belief with Atheism (believe god doesn't exist), it only differs that they believe theism is harmful and should be ACTIVELY opposed. You can't be Anti-theist if you don't take some sort of action opposing theism.

If someone has a pre-concieved notion of how the world is, and they are quite intelligent, they will try to bend all of the facts to suit their beliefs. @Vitkawl Oops, I realized I looked at this out of order. You say that we don't have anything to pride ourselves on, and I feel that that's a bit more situational. Is it not valid for me to feel pride that I am attending a very good university and am doing well? Now as a whole, yes, I am imperfect. We're all imperfect and nothing to brag about. But to attempt to sum up what I'm rambling about is that feelings like humility and pride aren't traits, their just responses to a situation or event.
@Vitkawl I can understand the idea of humility before god. He's omnipotent and omniscient etc. and that's pretty darn impressive. I don't necessarily believe that atheist don't believe in God. I believe that they are anti-Theology because an anti-theological position is the basis of their testimony. In other words I believe what atheist believe is I don't believe in God as Defined by your Religion. Is probably a more accurate statement. A position most probably taken in reference to a negative experience with a person or people of faith. That is just my personal opinion.
In my personal experience most atheist are not Honestly Atheist, most of them are just averse to organized religion. Which is understandable, however many of them (not all of them) reflect in their quiet time on God. In listening to you I noticed that you said you were Catholic from the beginning. False religion does more damage than anything else where faith is concerned. However in truth the soul of that individual still seeks.

She came to Christ, and during our winter retreat, we prayed over her, and it completely left her. Doctors are needless to say a little baffled. I've had many times where I cried out to God to stop the rain, save me from a dog, save me while i was drowning, help my dad find a job, and He answered.

@scathman321 There is no way to logically infer that citing minor genetic variation within a species disproves the existence of Adam and Eve. Scripture lists animals in "kinds" not specific species. Therefore it still stands to reason that Humans are of a different "kind". Besides, whether a person is white or black, would you not still list them as Homo sapien?

Why is this moral thing so hard to understand? I dont want anybody to kill me so I dont go around killing others. Same goes for having my stuff taken or friends and family raped. I dont do these things because I dont want someone to do it to me. No magic man in the sky or threat of after life punishment is needed to see these things are wrong...

@pwnisher17 No. Are you daft? If you can quantify how much weight X object will hold in X gravity, then you don't BELIEVE the object will hold you up, you KNOW the object will hold you up.
Also, I don't BELIEVE 5 apples are more filling than 3 apples, I KNOW that 5 apples > 3 apples based on EVIDENCE. Not a tough concept to apply to the world at large.

the majority of the people in the world that are stupid are probably religious, is it not fair to assume this? also, atheism by default doesn't make you smart. atheism is just a rejection of an idea that came to people through research and rational thinking (pretty sure you know that but yea). i don't think TJ explained himself well enough when he said "atheists are smart and religious people are stupid". but all in all you know what he meant

disagree with your first point. obviously you can't stereotype and say all religious people are stupid and all atheists are somewhat smart but you can make the assumption that the majority of religious people - when it comes to religion - are being stupid and ignorant (not their fault but yea). is it not fair to say that all the great minds of this world are atheists or agnostics, or would easily be if they knew what the world knows today?

@trig1211 Anti-theists aren't a type of atheist/agnostic. Anti-theists BELIEVE there is no god. Atheists/agnostics don't have evidence for god, so they don't bother refuting it/him.
If someone has a pre-concieved notion of how the world is, and they are quite intelligent, they will try to bend all of the facts to suit their beliefs. A computer analogy, if I may: If you have lots of ram in your brain, you can still fail in understanding a concept if you have a crappy operating system.

@PalulukanMakto i think i miss-read your post, thought you wrote they claim to know there is no god. anyway atheists believe there is no god too, cause of the insufficient evidence and so do anti-theists. but both terms aren't in the same category. there are four: atheist-agnostic / atheist-gnostic / theist-gnostic / theist-agnostic

Atheism asks to NOT beleive in religion. "A" (which means "without") "theism" (which means "religion")

@De4sher You're completely missing the point. The word "Atheism" literally means "without devine spirit(s)" so therefore it can't possible be devinely inspired. And just as atheism does not support the theory of a heaven or hell, to beleive in atheism means not beleiving in heaven or hell. And it's also not a religion, it's a beleif

Maybe, the god of christianity is false, but maybe there's a god that likes only atheists and thus, only gets atheists into heaven.

Is it not valid for me to feel pride that I am attending a very good university and am doing well? Now as a whole, yes, I am imperfect. We're all imperfect and nothing to brag about. But to attempt to sum up what I'm rambling about is that feelings like humility and pride aren't traits, their just responses to a situation or event.

It's not that us atheists don't feel humility when looking at the universe, we just feel humble in comparison to vastness of the universe and to nature on an astrological and biological level.

Without the context of the video, I will say that I don't believe there is a "normal state of man" and if there is then it would probably lean more towards pride. However, pride and/or humility aren't traits, their emotional responses to a situation.

I don't necessarily believe that atheist don't believe in God. I believe that they are anti-Theology because an anti-theological position is the basis of their testimony. In other words I believe what atheist believe is I don't believe in God as Defined by your Religion. Is probably a more accurate statement. A position most probably taken in reference to a negative experience with a person or people of faith. That is just my personal opinion.

In my personal experience most atheist are not Honestly Atheist, most of them are just averse to organized religion. Which is understandable, however many of them (not all of them) reflect in their quiet time on God. In listening to you I noticed that you said you were Catholic from the beginning. @gordonisnext If a religion cannot transmit peace between logic and reason and those portions that must be taken at faith then the religion is faulty. False religion does more damage than anything else where faith is concerned. It would appear that at the behest of a false religion that is psychologically well rooted in the individual and kinship that taking a route of no religion would be emotionally the safest route to take. However in truth the soul of that individual still seeks.
