  • Like It.

Also like the idea of steel split shot instead of lead.

YES those are coke nails. All the rest are trimmed. My roommate in the army had them.

  • @intenseangler where do you buy you fishing line from, and what brand is it?

  • wow that is cool. all you need to figure out is how to integrate a red and wight bober. :)

  • Put the lead weights in tape to reduce the chance of lead poisoning yourself.

  • @MadSmokerBBQ That's some good advice man. I use stainless splitshots in the ones I make for that same reason. When I shot this I had only just came up with the idea and only had the lead weights.

  • @MadSmokerBBQ You can get lead poisoning just by having it rub against you? I thought it had to be ingested.

  • Awesome I will be making my bracelet soon thanks for the demo.

  • @TxElite87 No problem my friend... hope it turns out good for ya man!

  • Coke nails?

  • @300in1Warrior Nope

  • This it awesome i will try to make it

  • Cool! I like this but maybe instead of cutting your cord then gluing it back together, could you have put the weights in with the hooks? Just thinking of saving some steps.

  • Just Great!!!!! tks

  • Hey I've struggling to make these forever do u think you can send me one?

  • @MrSurvivability Thanks my friend! :-)

  • his pinky nails bug me but its a good video

  • @kingelrik Thanks man, I appreciate that. Btw, I'll have to get around to cutting those nails one of these days, eh? ;-)

  • yes you do!!

  • Nice.

  • @Weskanoy Thanks!

  • (2nd comment) I used #12 stainless steel hooks and totally encased them in packing tape. I just laid the packet on the inner cords and knotted over them, but they’re held firmly. I removed the white inner strands of the top cord and added weights in the final 2 knots on top, before melting the ends. Because the sinkers are in the top cords of the bracelet, there’s less chance of lead exposure to my skin. Great video, great ideas! Thanks for sharing.

  • @MsLizRich Thanks for sharing your excellent method and technique my friend! I love the addition of the bead to use as a bobber... brilliant! One note on the weights: they make those small splitshots in stainless steel & tungsten... that way you don't have to worry about the possible lead issue. Thanks again and take good care!

  • Hey John, I've made a bracelet along this same idea, but didn't add fishing line to it; I was just going to use the white inner strands of the paracord. I'll wrap braided fishing line in the next one I make. Thanks! I took a 9/16" wooden bead with a large hole and coated it with spray acrylic matte finish, inside and out, let it dry thoroughly, then strung it over the two inner strands of paracord. I figure that wooden bead can be my bobber. (I'll continue what I did in the next comment.)

  • Perfect idea John. I bought some of those buckles n they have whistles built into them.(surprisingly loud) Now I know what to do with them. As always compulsive infotainment. Thanx n merry Christmas to u n urs.

  • @cheekyricho Thanks my Brother! Very smart idea using the buckles with the whistles built in! I'm going to have to find some of those. Happy Holidays buddy!

  • Seems to me that if you wear this for any length of time, you'll find that your hooks get rusted from the salt in your sweat. Is this bracelet one you only put on when you go out into the wilderness (ie: not daily use)?

  • @scotth6107 Good point Brother. Since this is a daily wear item, I might just have to swap these hooks out for some stainless ones... that or seal 'em in some plastic wrap. Thanks for the heads up man. Take care...

  • Great video! I love multi-purpose items and this one is a dandy. I have beeen meaning to make a paracord bracelet. Now I can incorporate a emergency fishing kit into it. Thanks!

  • @MrPoppabear255 Right on Brother! I'm glad it helped. Thanks!

  • Very nice addition to the paracord bracelet John. I've been meaning to put one of these things together so I can match all the other bushcrafty/ survivally folks. Now I can justify my procrastination.... : )

  • @saradreaming Yup, you really gotta keep up with the latest fashion trends Sara... well, there was that bell-bottom thing... ;-)

    Thanks my friend!

  • What a great idea! Thanks for the tip!

  • @bmehegan1 Your very welcome! Thank you.

  • Very cool. I did not know you were playing with Paracord items now too. Good video nice explanation and how to DIY.

  • @dmacken11 Thanks Dave. Yeah, I figured I better throw something together for the guys without "thread injectors" lol. Actually, I had been thinking of trying this for awhile... just finally got around to it ;-)

    Take care my Brother!

  • Fantastic video my man! superb idea! You could add a couple of fake maggots for bait options, a very small piece of foil to make a lure, add a couple of small swivels, the possibilities come flooding on when you get imspiration like you provided in that video John. thanks for sharing! All the best...Jedi

  • @jediknightofthewoods Thanks Jedi, I appreciate that! I know what ya mean... once you get the ball rolling it just don't stop! lol

    Take care my friend!

  • awesome idea i use 1/4 inch SS shackles on mine there rated at 880 lbs figure they would come in handy for shelter building or something i deffenatley am gonna intigrate the fishing kit into mine awesome video and one helva idea .btw i thought i was the only one who ended my wrap by melting the ends to were they wont pull out lol it works i have never had one pull threw or come unravelled

  • @Maddawwg45 That's an excellent idea using the shackles instead of a buckle! Thanks my friend!

  • Far out...in front of the pack John - awesome thinking!

  • @wawhiker Thank you Bill :-)

  • Brother good stuff, I got to watch this vid in parts tho.......

  • Ha! What a great idea man! Now that's a first I think :o) It all fit together so nice! Now that's a paracord bracelet! I still think the nails come in handy for Yayo...haha ;o) Great job on the vid bro!!!

  • @Ggreenvideos Thanks buddy! It's just not surviving if you can't whip out the old fishing tackle and have a little fun, eh? Always makes the rest of your fellow survivors jealous ;-0

  • @intenseangler for sure :o)

  • great ideas as usual!

  • @BCoutdoorsurvival Thanks Brother!

  • Load the other video with the small survival items in the bracelet. This is a great Idea brother!! keep it coming!

  • @vwvr6t Right on Bro, I'm glad you liked it! I'll post a shorter vid on the survival items one. Thanks!

  • great and practical project, thanks alot for sharing

  • @dragonflyhiker My pleasure Todd :-) Thanks for watching and commenting my friend!

  • Awesome job bro! and if the buckle floats there's the bobber! sweet idea!

  • @TomsBackwoods Cool idea. Buckle must float.

Keep this up we are going to have a house in a bracelet lol. ;-)

  • @TomsBackwoods Ah hah! Brilliant thinking Brother! ;-)

    Thanks Tom!

  • It's the return of the Bic!

Graet vid! this makes the survival bracelet 10times more usefull!

  • @aru05001 Ah, you caught that, eh? lol ;-)

    Thanks my friend!

  • Nice coke nail. Thumbs up on that.

  • @n0neCheaper It's definitely not a coke nail (so 80's! lol), but thanks for the thumbs up :-)

  • @intenseangler Hey man, the 80's were the coolest :o)

  • @Ggreenvideos You say that as if you remember them buddy ;-)

  • @intenseangler Haha! That's because I'm old man :o) The 80's were the best for me :o)

  • Cool vid John, a fresh idea, at least fresh to me. I will give it a try but I think that I will try to integrate the split weights right before the last one or two knots thus avoiding cutting the cord; you probably tried this already and it didn't work but I'll find out. Also, when using black paracord, I like to pull back the outer layer and snip the white inner stands when making the final cut and final singeing to avoid the white dot that stands out so much. Thanks again, pretty cool stuff.

  • @LV2daHilt Thanks my friend. Yeah, I was pretty excited when I came up with it... but I just heard that it had already been thought of (surprise, lol). That's a very good idea on trying to incorporate the weights at the end of the cord... I came up with my method because I am used to making the dual color bracelets... seemed easiest, and therefor I didn't think past it. Thanks for the good idea. Also, thanks for the tip on snipping the inner strands before melting the ends... smart!

  • That is just slick . And to think you were all hair and no brains lol . Just busting you brother you are the man of modification.

  • @medicjimr LOL! You know the old saying right? Stick a thousand monkeys in a room for a thousand years....... haha!

    Thanks buddy :-)

  • reall good vid john

  • @bigdog32712 Thanks Brother!

  • You can buy these on Ebay an there are tutorials on the web. There is also a fire kit version. So not an Original idea, but still a good tip.

  • @redwoodfox Bummer man :-( Oh well, it was original for me ;-)

    Thanks!

  • Get idea , my son wants to make a few with his scout friends .

  • @dsw072774 That would be a fun project for them indeed! You'll have to let me know how it turns out for them, I'd love to hear about their success!

  • An idea for finishing a paracord project is to melt 2 ends and fuse them together on the backside or as the cord passes through a hole on the project, just to baffle people.

  • @borderraven Ahh, clever! ;-)

  • Fantastic idea and good job John.

I would integrate a few earthworms as bait. haha :-D

Later, it stinks a little, but it is not so bad the way it crawls at the beginning.

    Just kidding my friend. ;-)

This is a really cool bracelet. thanks

    All the best.

    Greetings Tito

  • @Naturliebe Ah hah! Great thinking my friend! Plus as an added bonus, I would be getting kicked out of the house ALOT, so I'd have more time to go fishing ;-)

    Take good care Tito!

  • Jon, Excellent vid! Thanks for sharing!

  • @BillGoudy Thank you Bill!

  • Nicely done John. and no cans on this video :D

    Take care: Ari

  • @Bushwhittler Thanks Ari :-)

P.S. Yeah, no more cans for awhile! lol

  • OK, McGuyver, the parafishingbracelet is clipped to your wrist. Next spring (?), it will be really cool to see make a vid where you unclip it, rig up a willow branch or something, and catch fish! Of course you have to clean and cook the fish using just a pair of toenail clippers (ha)! Take care, John. Don

  • @Winkiedoodles Oh no! You spoiled my surprise twist Don.... I was going to send one of these to you and have you do the next "survival challenge" haha! ;-0

    Take care my friend!

  • Great Video John, that's an awesome idea... :]

  • @meatmangary Thanks Brother! Gotta have the fishing gear at all times right? haha

  • It doesn't want to start. -- Help! I am being excluded from seeing sth that gets so much praise, sob ....

  • @steintanz It's ok buddy... want me to tell you how it ends? ;-)

  • @intenseangler No, I'll keep trying, but still no luck here ...

  • brilliant man thank you

  • @stonybrokebushcraf No problem Brother... glad you liked it! Thanks!

  • Awesome John, way to think outside the box!

  • @GunsKnivesSurvival Thanks my Brother!

I guess it wasn't an original idea after all though... apparently someone is selling them on Ebay :-( Oh well, it was for me ;-)

  • Very cool, love it!

  • @nchiker1971 Thanks Brother!

  • That's a cool idea John, wish I thought of that!

  • @ausurvival Thanks Tamar! I wish you would have thought of it too.. I think I wasted my last few brain cells on this project, haha ;-)

  • Great, I think I am gonna try this. Good video.

  • @paulieeee1976 Thanks my friend!

  • @Keister12 Thanks!

  • Paracord Fishing Thong ? Rigging the Spider-Wire and the Split-Shot is a no-brainer but I am a bit worried about the hooks.

  • @phrankus2009 Ohhh... now I get it, haha! Wow, I'm slow sometimes! LOL

  • @intenseangler I take it you are referring to the rigging of the line, shot, and hooks.

  • U R Psychic ! ... I have been working on a Paracord Fishing Jock-Strap !

  • @phrankus2009 Great minds think alike, eh? ;-)

  • @phrankus2009, You might consider making a Paracord Survival Thong and Top for the yf or gf.

  • AWESOME!! Now that is beyond the next level. Hands down the best survival mod that I have seen this year!

  • @bellwitch007 Wow, thanks for that ultimate compliment my friend! Much appreciated!

  • Great idea John!!! Endless possibilities!!! Keep up the good work!!!

  • @whoismiketruong Thanks a bunch Mike, I really appreciate that man!

  • Great idea!!

  • @debistogs Thanks Debi! :-)

  • Very cool! Although I would have to wait until you post these for sale, I wouldn't have the patience to make one. LOL!

  • @CaptainFur LOL! Thanks Brother!

  • @intenseangler BTW, I ment to add, if you could add two small eye screws with the hooks to help in construting a fishing rod, that be great!
