So many years, so many memories, and in my opinion, this song encompasses all that is, and ever will be, Final Fantasy.

@Colakills Susan has a really good voice, its really strong. But I think Kanon's more classical voice suits this song a little better. Maybe that's because I'm used to the original version by Izumi Masuda, so I find Susan's voice a little too powerful for this song. I haven't gotten used to Susan's voice yet.

@eji313 Kanon's live performance was quite stunning, her vocals were less belting but still powerful and more operatic. I've listened to the original many times which is sung by an opera singer and Kanon's version is more similar to that one. Though my opinion may be clouded by the live sensation and acoustics of the night, and I heard that before I listened to this version.

Not saying I don't like Susan's version. Now that I've listened to this a few more times, it's also very good.

@eji313 i attended the sydney performance and kanon's performances were my favourite of the night. i don't see how she was too gentle at all, she belted out some beautiful notes, it sent shivers down my spine, and her version of this song almost made me cry, (of course the orchestra was beautiful too). also i don't understand, the engrish? she pronounced every word very clearly, there was barely and engrish at all. i do like this version, but i prefer kanon's too. x

God I miss this game. I played from 2004 to 2008 everyday. This brings back a lot of memories. Way too many to delve into on youtube.

Its been 3 years since I deleted my account and gave away all my gil, but I still around once a week or more, check out how this game is doing. Debating wether or not to reload up this game, but family, job, kids, and career seem to take precedence. The thought of starting over at ground zero terrifies me. lol

I played FFXI for about four years before quitting. I like to think the ridiculous amounts of nostalgia I feel for the game stem from the fact that it was my first MMO. But then I hear this music and I'm reminded of how much ambiance the game had. No matter what level you were or what quest you were doing, you always felt like PART of Vana'diel, instead of just playing a game. I play WoW, and it's certainly easier to level, but WoW- hell, NO other game pulls you in like FFXI did.

Do I regret the years I spent playing FFXI? Not one bit. Maybe if it had been another game. The people in FF were fantastic and are still my friends now. It may sound lame but I take the knowledge that people can work together, from FF, into my future. Achieving things even with huge language gaps in FF was awesome (like finding a camp or doing CoP!!!) Glad to see other people miss the game too!

Love this song, memories of all the badassery, epic wins, epic fails, mpk's & Tractor, pvp, nm camp conversations, & w/e random crap the smallest, crudest ls on the server came up with, the frustration of having to do the Shadowlord story more than once.. Too bad game play is so time consuming, Single parents simply can't advance in XI in reasonable time. It's the only con about XI. But, it's a great way to spend time with my little brothers, since we're so far apart.

Its not dying. If you want to go back get the ultimate collection on steam for like $20 and get back in. So much new content has been and is being added right now and the community there is more close knit than ever. If you like it, go play it.

Alas, I was never invited to parties because of the Colibiris, so my life as a BLM was ruined. I never met 75, and my friend beat me there when I promised to hit 75 before her.
