If you're referring to when they moved some of their business assets to Holland, not only was that a smart business move, but a little known fact is that before that even happened, most of their dealings were outside of Ireland anyway, dating back years.

The decision comes after Ireland announced that it would no longer let musicians avoid paying taxes on royalties. Critics say Bono has nerve asking the Irish government to contribute more to Africa, but wants to shave tax payments to fund that aid.

@SkreetGil Bono is called a hypocrite b/c he invests a ton of his time & assets to help the poor. When his business does what many others have done he's targeted & ridiculed. If Bono wasn't involved in charitable work & just raked in the cash this issue would have never surfaced. Rather than criticize him, look at the underlying tax system in Ireland. The tax haven that WAS there ATTRACTED others, thus helping the economy more than the sketchy decision to induce a tax (& driving U2 & others away

@shkee23 Yes, they took advantage of the tax saving when they were there. Then Ireland couldn't afford it anymore, as a country, and needed to change their tax system. Way to stick with the country that was there for you, and then, just fuck them when they need you to help their economy.

@kikyo4815 Was at both 360 shows in TO,great concerts!CN tower lighting to match the stage and those people in their apartment towers flashing their lights at Bono answering him that they were hearing the concert!!Pretty cool!I suggest you come to Mtl ,great place to see them!
