I think that for a HTPC u should use an ATI card.

That could very well be quieter then My 9800gt, but since I was using it a little bit for light gaming and PureVideo, I went with nvidia. I'm also what you could call a Nvidia fanboy, so I was leaning towards it anyway. :)

For Computer tasks, yes. Microsoft wireless keyboard and mouse. For most uses however I just use my family's universal remote, Using a IRMan receiver hooked into a serial card on the HTPC.
