  • What kind of bass is that? it sounds so clear.

  • what is this base called?

  • Hey! You have made great lessons, good to learn, and if I listen to you, you give some info about the theoritecal side the music you are playing, which is good for more advanced players. I'm a guitarist who tries to find what that 'bass'thing is :P You're helping me get along very well! Thanks alot!

  • IT IS GREGORY HOUSE WITH GLASSES AND BASS!!!!!!!

  • I was linked to your lessons from reddit. After I finish my dose of calc, I'mma come right back. Thanks for the videos.

  • Legend as usual - cheers :)

  • Muchas Gracias amigo por sus clases

son maravillosas y muy didacticas para la mayoria de nosotros

    god bless you.

  • Thanks! This is great

  • yes mr funky president keep it goin :)

  • can you teach us some of arabien groove please on 6/8 rythme

  • the smile you do right at about 2:42 is so great .. it shows that you love the theoretics but still enjoy what comes out!

like a rocket scientist that actually builds rockets himself :)

and i am enjoying it too! keep up the good work!

  • Fantastic!

  • I wish someone would build an acoustic bass with a nice huge body that has a real BASS tone ... I don't care if it looks goofy or not, but I guess it might not sell because of the way it looks. Nice fill btw Marlowe.

  • @Pudsy440 I know what you're saying and I wish it too, but unfortunately the size of a body to produce that kind of tone would be really unwieldy as a guitar like upright bass size, and at that point it's no longer a guitar. The closest thing would the the kind of bass guitar that Mariachi groups play called a guitarron.

  • @THIl2D3Y3 yeah ... I've seen those guitarrons ... they're pretty funny looking, wouldn't mind having one to play around with. Yeah, guess you're right, it would be too unwieldy ... I have an acoustic bass, it's great for practicing alone and maybe jamming with a guitar player with a light touch but really not enough volume to match a loud acoustic guitar. Aww well, the nature of the low note. :)

  • I have to agree with a lot of people on your videos. They are more educational than most of the other instructional videos that are online these days. You are doing amazing work and I am proud to be subscribed to you

  • Man, what is that bass?

  • Love your videos makes me wanna get funky on my 6 string

  • can you do a bit of showing off on that bass?

  • Nice bassguitar!

  • were you plugged in?

  • @OnThatBass No, just the acoustic sound

  • muito bom

é uma pena que você não fala português

  • good shit, man! i'm gonna check this out later on... GOOD SHIT!

  • what kind of bass are you using here? this accoustic sounds absolutely amazing. im on the lookout for my first acoustic bass.

  • Long time since you picked up that bass. Wasn't the last video with this bass a "soul bass" kind of this as well?

    Good stuff :)

  • Cool

  • I wish there were tabs for this, I can nail the first part but the second gets me every time :(

  • nice stuffs!

  • That D-D#-E fill ALWAYS reminds me off James Brown's Funky President.

  • Phil, Phil?!? WHO'S PHIL?!?

  • hey marlowe, what kind of strings are those?

  • Is this is a newly acquired bass? It's a nice one! Thanks for the video.

  • @Annonymus121 Its ancient , had it since the start 90's

  • Hey marlowe, this is a GOOD one! Really like it.

  • What kind of bass is that? Who's the manufacturer?

  • @simpsons2170 Its a old Maison bass

  • I don't play....but I love it!! I'm mesmerised!! :)

  • I've always struggled playing open strings because of my lack of proper muting technique. Nice groove though

  • excellenty, great inspiration..thanks Marlowe!

  • Oh how I hate you!

Playing so easy and nice :)

  • 1:24 - Stopping goofing off Phil, the teacher's trying to play!

  • @FrankSeager Lol!

  • @FrankSeager hope he learned his lesson after all the hammer on's he got.

  • I don't know why I suck with open string notes so much

  • Awesome riffs

  • could not resist getting my acoustic bass

  • awesome just learned this :D sounds awesome on my ibanez AEB what do you play on again i forgot :/

  • this guy is danish i can hear it :D

  • @BjornTheBeast

yeah he sounds like lars ulrich :D

  • i've learned more from you than i ever have from any book, CD or instructor.

  • @shedisek Yes, because he can't be tough or shout at you and you can watch him all the time without him being tired of it.

  • oh no your graham stachio is gone :O

  • I love that little semitone pitch shift/slide... you also see that sort of thing a lot in good rock music! Also sounds nice if you bend the string for the lower note to the same pitch as the next fret rather than slide up, but that's a bit more tough to do and sounds about the same anyway :)
