@a40510 ya the subie is the most versatile car in my opinon.top end isnt spectacular but who needs to go 160 all the time...to me its about 0-60, 1/4mi and versatility which yu have in a subie. the understeer issue. lol...the awd acts directly based upon the amount of aggressiveness the gyro senses..thus if you come into a turn timidly it will def understeer..if you take the turn like a freakin animal upon entry the gyro tell the computer to make the awd act acordingly..make sense?
@a40510 and if you do drive one i think you will want to buy it.. although launching in an awd is a totally differnt world...it takes a little getting used to but i love the advantage off the line.. and you cant truly appreciate a subaru until you take it on the dirt... then and only then will the car be at home where it belongs...the understeer kinda goes away too...

@frambesbuckeye They aren't rally cars... in order to make them into such you would have to HEAVILY modify them. Especially the suspension to stand up to large jumps, dips, and drops.

I was referring to "just slid it straight..." If you look at the vid you can see his wheels did turn but he turned them back so that he wouldn't hit the berm at an angle. He was thinking and it could have ended a lot worst if he wasn't, just sometimes you need to deal with what you're given, in this case a car that won't slow down.
I dont think the ABS did him in. didnt look like the wheels are even turned so I'm guessing he slammed the brakes and just slid it straight instead of e-brake turning and on the gas in an attempt to get it turned.
I didnt say his wheels locked up. I'm thinking his brain locked up. he probably fixated on the banking, causing him to floor the brake pedal in panic instead of trying to actually make the turn. When I say, "didnt look like the wheels are even turned" I meant It doesn't look like the front wheels are turned to make the curve, they're pointing straight.
He seems to be new to gravel racing :) Street tires aside, it looks like the ABS f'ed him up. I could see the brakes lock up for a second then it looks like nothings grabbing. I race my subie in a few different classes, one of the first rules, turn off your abs. It will only cause you grief.
