Beautiful owls, and beautiful slow motion shots...I had a great horned that lived mostly on my land, that was about 4 feet tall! He was full grown when my family moved here, in north central Florida, and he lived for at least 30 years after that. His progenitors I still hear during the months they decide to do their "quiet" calling....
I love this video! I fell in love with owls this past spring when 2 Great Horned Owls were born at the dog park near where I live. I spent 3 months photographing them and their mom, and just hanging out them everyday. Now I can't get enough owl videos, pictures and info about these amazing birds. So thank you for your video! It's awesome!
When I was a kid, we owned a ranch with a large hay barn. Before a delivery of new hay, we'd have to lift up all the pallets & rake out all the old hay, which would be filled with mice. We'd catch them, put them in a bucket & take them to a field where a horned owl lived in an old tree. We'd let the mice go one at a time and let the old fellow catch them. After a few months, he'd see us coming with the bucket, get all excited and start bobbing up and down happily. Clever bird.
seriously pause the video at 0:00 and mute it open a new tap and click on the first vid for Distinction- So sick. have it start at 0:02 play this at the same time and enjoy
Possible to get any more info on your amazing training of these owls? Raised in captivity? Or injured and rehab'd? Pets? So beautiful and the music is great. I am a Molly Watcher addict. Thank you for this video. Would love more info.
Thank you so much for the wonderful comment. This was filmed at the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum in Tucson, AZ. During the cooler months (Oct-April) they have an outdoor Raptor Free Flight program. We get a lot of our footage from visits to the museum. I was told the birds trained for the program are rescues that couldn't be released for whatever reason.

if you pet a trained owl , even then they get annoyed or bite ? ...
even if you raised them up from that way , i saw many owls like to get petting or cuddling ...
