The composer of the music is Angelo Badalamenti. He was born in 1937 and composed most of the OST's the movies of Lych and the original Twin Peaks series OST too. He is a genious. I don't really think that he must have inspired by Martin Gore. :D

I think the incidental music (from 2:33) must have really inspired Depeche Mode's songwriter, Martin Gore, who wrote the classic songs of the Depeche album Songs of Faith and Devotion around that time. The first song that promoted the album was "I Feel You", which sounded quite similarly..

The way they filmed the cabin club scene is really effective-its like a K Hole-really gets across that drugged up detached,distorted view.Like that lost few hours in a club-dreamlike.

There are lot of contradictions between the series and the movie. In the series Leland is a helpless and innocent pawn of BOB, while in the movie that doesn't seem to be the case. In the series MIKE doesn't know that BOB is possessing Leland, but in the movie he does.
