R/S was the best arc imho. I liked the development between Ruby and Sapphire, and I thought the story felt much grander, like there was much more at stake than before.

Emerald is my least favorite. I don't like Black or White yet, but I think that'll change. I didn't like Ruby at first but now he's my favorite character.

The names of blue and green were changed because of the games. The original was THe red version and blue version for teh Gameboy color. THen there is Firered and Leaf green. THe US kept the names according to the Firered and Leafgreen games. Japan changed the names according to the very original Red and Blue version.

Actually that -is- what it's called in Japanese. Kinda obscure, so sadly it's awkward searching fanart. English changed it to Pokemon Adventures (which is equally obscure).

If you're looking for a specific arc, you could just tell by the cover color (most of the time). They're named after the games.

actually, yes it is. I have read the 29 volumes in english so far, and that happens during the ruby and sapphire series. Slightly later Ruby tells Sapphire that he likes her, too, and traps her in wallace's hovercar thing, so she doesn't have to face any danger, and goes to take on Groudon and Kyogre, after he knows she is safe.
