  • This is when I listened to rap, when it was without the bed, the word fuck, bitches, and that other shit, when we had beatboxes and sweatsuits. The good ol days, 2Pac, BIG, and NWA's music were good even though they used to swear. GOOD MUSIC STILL LIVES!!!!

  • When Rap was the DAMAGE, cant believe the pop shit masquerading as rap!

  • I guess u cant understand what it is to represent the black consciousness in a white dominated wolrd but please dont believe the hype

  • That's so racist.

  • @Glowb0t

    HOW!?!

  • I think it says something that metalheads, rockers and punks like myself can appreciate Public Enemy and the other great rappers. It goes to show how shit modern rap really is and how it's lost all meaning to be merely about "bitches", "hos", bling and other similar shit.

  • i completely second that. My music taste is primarily based on '77 punk and batcave music. I can listen to classic rap like this because basically, just with different beats and styles they're setting across the same message. However batcave is more spooky but as far as '77 punk goes, i can completely identify.

  • I wonder how much of modern punk etc is actually influenced by classic rap. I know It Takes A Nation Of Millions was one of Kurt Cobain's favourite albums, for example.

  • modern rap isnt even about that its all dis censored bullshit it makes me fucking sick

  • @6shadow6lord6 . U r right man, I m one of those metalheads. Can defintitely appreciate good rap / hiphop from late 80s / early 90s. PE is up there with the best of em.

  • @6shadow6lord6 Amen to that dude. It's all about drugs and violence and shit.

  • @6shadow6lord6 Don't believe the HYPE! Dig deeper than ya TV..real Rap Music like this is existing nowadays.

  • @6shadow6lord6 I DON'T BELIVE THE HYPE...

  • kick it to that

  • hehe.. i´m a big garage-rock-head and i love this! i played it always on my sets and the beatniks loved it too ;)

  • Triple A, five stars, classic original

  • im a big metal head, but this is awesome! late 80s and 90s are pretty good.

  • haha same man

  • False media!we dont need it do we

  • 1 word: win

  • FLAVA FLAVVV YEAH BOYYY

  • If only rap nowdays would be as good as Public Enemy and Run-DMC...

  • @SenorSlopez

real hip hop is but there's a dreadful sub-culture thats makin all the money. check out ninja tune, bbe, big dada & tru thoughts labels, solid steel & groovement podcasts, they stay true

  • kick ass.

  • cant get better than public enemy

  • This was pretty awesome at Pitchfork. Any song with a reference to Coltrane is gonna be pretty awesome.

  • I've known every word to this song for the last 20 years. This is what rap is all about.

  • I don't listen to the new stuff much I am too much in love with the style and the music of the late 1980's and 1990's.

Very few if any music nowadays I like...

  • today's rap sucks... PE 4 EVER

  • yes

  • Public Enemy kicks so much ass.
