we still have rappers like Immortal Technique... not so many tho... Just like everything else our lives are becoming more manufactured, from food, music, entertainment to life style and career. Sad..............
You say Kanye West, i say Chuck D. You say 2Pac i say Eric Eazy E. Right. You say Lil John i say Jeru the Damaja. You say Lupe Fiasco, i say Kid N´PLay :D
So many other rappers have tried to imitate Flavor Flav's style and they have failed, the huge glasses, top-hats, clock necklaces, Flavor Flav has brought A new meaning to the word funk!
This is when I listened to rap, when it was without the bed, the word fuck, bitches, and that other shit, when we had beatboxes and sweatsuits. The good ol days, 2Pac, BIG, and NWA's music were good even though they used to swear. GOOD MUSIC STILL LIVES!!!!

One the pioneers iof the hiphop movement if hiphop as a whole would have taken heed to what was spoken by chuck d we would have less violence drugs sex all the focus now is about what they are dealing with how to make it !!!
I think it says something that metalheads, rockers and punks like myself can appreciate Public Enemy and the other great rappers. It goes to show how shit modern rap really is and how it's lost all meaning to be merely about "bitches", "hos", bling and other similar shit.
i completely second that. My music taste is primarily based on '77 punk and batcave music. I can listen to classic rap like this because basically, just with different beats and styles they're setting across the same message. However batcave is more spooky but as far as '77 punk goes, i can completely identify.
I wonder how much of modern punk etc is actually influenced by classic rap. I know It Takes A Nation Of Millions was one of Kurt Cobain's favourite albums, for example.
@6shadow6lord6 . U r right man, I m one of those metalheads. Can defintitely appreciate good rap / hiphop from late 80s / early 90s. PE is up there with the best of em.
