  • Some cats are better then others for getting a bath but generally if you start when they are kittens they will get use to it

  • Learn them to go under the shower its easy just put some balls or mouses under the shower or give them candy way easier really and get some shampoo that worked for all of mine ragdolls :)

Now there following me in the shower and want baths everyday hehe

  • im not sure what to make of it... the cats are lovely.... the owner and manic petting and grooming im not sure about.

  • how cute! it is so sweet and calm :-)

  • shave some fur off there rear ends if your worried about fecal messas on their fur.

  • i thought cats don't like water

  • they dont.

i think it depends on the breed.

like the one in the flick, they're ragdolls, they are very low maintenence, gentle, loyal and they love anyone, and is very friendly.

now if u had a different cat that was the opposite of those, then there would be a problem.

  • are calicos a problem?

  • it depends on the cat as well- I think what Calpico was trying to say was that Ragdolls are well-known for being friendlier than most other breeds of cats......... again, it depends on the cat though!

  • im sorry, i dont own a cat, though i wish to.

but if ur cat is very kind, and gentle then i guess it wont hurt to try?

or just do trial and error.

  • @jjtiojohn12 Calico is a color not a breed, so there is no typical disposition.

Callie was my favorite cat. I could do anything with her- she would follow me around like a dog, take baths, ride in the car, & snuggle. She was a calico.

I had another calico that was just too wild for me to handle.

If you want a calico spend some time with it and pick one who likes to cuddle if that is the kind of cat you want.

  • Jake/Elwood looks alot like my Mylo, check out my video response

  • fully noooooooo

    lolz...

my cat his name is jake 2

  • Oh if its the the same cat I just purchased a Ragdoll who's dad was Jake and mom was Bellaluna. He's SO cute. We call him rags(Real original right?)

  • The breed name is called Ragdolls. Cute name!

  • You should get a pet hairdryer. It has a cool setting where the heating element does not come on. Human hairdryers always have a heating element on even on the lowest cool setting. I have a Comare superduck 1600. Just better for your beautiful ragdolls. Im getting one soon.

  • woah, lady, i hope you know that you shouldn't ever blowdry your cats dry. it's really bad for their fur, it damages it and it could possibly cause more hair loss, so more hairballs. i heard it's better to towel-dry them as much as you can, and then let them dry the rest themselves.

  • I just got my persian from a cat breeder of 38 years. If she's been blow-drying her cats' hair with a standard hair dryer all this time then I don't see what the harm is.

You'd hope after 38 years you know what you're talking about - so I'm going to take her advice.

So I can say I "heard" it's not bad to blow dry your animal with a standard hair-dryer because someone with YEARS of experience is my credible source.

  • I have never seen such a thing .We just got a rag doll yesterday any hints or info that would be helpful .I have 2 granddaugtherthey aready love it but I as scared they will hurt it.Send any hints that I should know please please

    thank you Maragret

  • I do know some hints! Ragdolls are very careful and affectionate they go by what happens when they were a baby (example) if ur grandchildren pet it very hard and roughly-your ragdoll as a grown up might be afraid of people.!

    good luck!

  • How on earth do you get your cats to have a bath? My Persian "princess" Stella would probably scratch me half to death if I tried that. Seriously, how do you get them to do that? I am getting a Raggie-boy in a month or so to match Stella.

  • It's a ragdoll, they almost never use their nails ;)

  • my sister's rag comes out of the litter box with a poo foot quite often

  • Try usuing the small 12-18 quart storage boxes with the lid. They have higher sides and because they are smaller they will do less walking around. I also only cover litter on one half. One draw back they tip over easy so wedge them into something. One plus...The lid can be put on to cover cat poop smell. They also work great in the car behind the seat they fit perfect.

  • wow... that's great that you trained your cats to get a bath... my cats have never liked baths

  • and wow... those two cats do look alot alike

  • I cant believe i am watching a cat. I hope my Ragdoll will be so good too. I will have one soon at home.

  • ya'know you'll burn them by keeping the hair dryer in one spot

you have to move around cause it heats up pretty fast

just try it on yourself you'll

those cats probably think their in hell

  • I agree with this... instead of having the blow dryer going in just the front why not blowing it all around the cage to get the hair moving and so the heat won't be blowing in the cat's faces.

  • Your cat seems to be ok,good job,you are setting a fine example ;]

  • I can't believe you mix your cats up.

If they have dingle berries, you can just pull them off, then bathe them as needed. If they have lose stooles on their behind that are not cleaned off, you can do an easy clean to the behind, then clean to the behind as needed only to the behind area. They aren't a high maitentence cat, nor are they dumb; which, you have implied in two videos/

  • These 2 bath videos of yours really crack me up.. my ragdoll cats are 4 now and they have only had ONE bath but I wish I had started when they were young after seeing the wonderful luxurious coats of your cats. They are so pretty. I love your videos, they are very entertaining and Jake and Elwood make great subjects. I also chat with my kitties all the time... most people would commit me, but it is great to see you do it too.

  • hey....can you believe this...I have two Raggies as well..oldest one is a Seal Point...named Elwood and the other one is a Seal Point Lynx...named Jake...do we love the Blues Brothers or what???

  • It's so great seeing someone with such well behaved kitties. I bathe my ragdoll and himilayan monthly and they're both fine with it. I had to laugh at your video. You talk to your cats even more than I do! It's a great bonding experience as I'm sure you know. Thanks for sharing this video. All the best to you, Jake & Elwood. Steve

  • Amazing! If I tried to bath my cat I'd probably end up in hospital...

  • That is a really calm cat... and he seems to be enjoying his bath

  • Wow, Ragdolls really ARE a docile breed. They don't run even when the hair dryer is on, and it scares the living daylights out of my cats!

  • They must be bred to be spaced out all the time, like they've got an eternal kitty-high

  • yea, i'm prettyy sure my ragdoll sleeps 23 hours a day.

  • Wow!! Your kitty is so docile! He's sooo cute!

  • I'm amazed at how calm they are. How often do you bathe them?

  • Once a week is my goal. Every five days would be even better, but it generally ends up being about every 7 to 10 days.

  • Do they live indoors?
