15 years later you can still see the effects of the fire. The large trees are missing. Otherwise the desert has grown back. The McDowells seem unaffected starting at the trailhead on 128th. It's a beautiful hike.

aw my old house is like right at that area!!!! and i live by jomaz now! where ANOTHER house just caught fire! ohhh az!
