Long before there was this game called BattleField 1942. They made a mod called Desert Combat featuring coalition troops versus iraqui troops while the war in Iraq was still going.

I don't see how. EA was trying to depict a future war on terror in a cartoony C&c game. They took some aspects of the current situation to create "half accurate" depiction of a US vs. terrorist war of the near future. As I said before EA chooses one side to be the "clear good guys" and "clear bad guys" Logically if it was a game about war on terror the Americans would be the good guys and the terrorists the bad guys, and yes it was obviously somewhat based on current events, as it should.
