@highdopaminelevel I think people called her ugly because there had been no leading lady who looked like her before. She was, you might say, the anti-Doris Day when it came to looks. I think after "The Way We Were" a lot of people came around, and accepted that there is a new kind of beauty, or at least a different kind of beauty, and that not all beauty is identical.
One word: phenomenal. She sounds heaps older than 13, i'm 13 and this is AMAZING! 'lovemovies02' got it right, I can believe this because this is Barbra!!! Amazing...so jealous right now. I know I shouldn't be because this is Barbra, no one can compare to her.
It's a wonderful video. I just bought the collection where this song is included and when I first listened to it I was mesmerized. Lovely song, and to have a recording of Streisand as a young girl it is magical. Thank you for posting it.
