I have a soprano, But can you make a new video for like beginner beginners. And could you take more time showing the chords. I think you have chosen some great songs, I think your the best uke teacher on youtube.
Thanks Mrclarky for Yr response. Actually I use my Guitar tuner to tune G, E and A strings. And for C string, I do that by ear. I wonder if it works like that. I have one Uke since 2 days and want to learn but It's weird... I'm a bit lost with the tuning! So sad :(
awsome stuff benny, just got my first Uke a few days ago and have NEVER played ANY musical instuments in my life (im 31), so it was good to learn some basics and make some musical sounds....cheers
Get a clip-on tuner for your instrument. I recommend the "Intellituner" this should solve your problem. If you have an inexpensive uke it may still sound out of tune slightly and this is due to the construction of the instrument. You'll have to live with that, just get the tuner to say G-C-E-A from the top down for starters.
Benny, I am loving these, just bought a uke today, been watching your videos all evening, who was your inspiration to learn? mine was "Bruddah Iz" Israel Kamakawiwo'ole...
George Formby was my inspiration but since I learned "When I'm Cleaning Windows" I havn't done a single one of his other songs! Theres so many great tunes out there I couldn't resist branching out :-)
benny ur mi home boy!!!! I had to perform it in front of a whole bunch of people but i didn't no how to play it when i went on and watch all ur video it helped me a lot i mean a lot!!
Thanks for the response. I've tried to make it as visible as possible to get the chord shapes and I take it real slow (the pace I learn at) sorry if you can't follow it.
benny your first two lessons help me a lot, ive been learning for like a week now and i can play both of your songs - any other places i can look for advice on learning yourself, or books to buy etc?
i can strum and with practise get the chords, im just not sure where i can go to improve stuff!
Hey Deadeye, sorry for my tardy response. I don't have any books or videos, just the YouTube stuff. Lesson 3 is up and I have another one planned. I think it would be a good idea for you to think up a few songs you'd like to do and then find the tabs (tablature) for them google up a chord chart for ukulele (GCEA tuning) and then start practising. That is pretty much how i started out. My first song was "When I'm Cleaning Windows" by George Formby.
You got lessons from Tiny Tim! WOW! I'd love to have met him. By all accounts he was a kind and gentle man. He also had a simply amazing career! Thanks for your comments :-)
Thank you Benny, and my FAVORITE Uke song as well. I was blessed to work with and spend a great deal of time with Tiny Tim. He gave me my 1st Ukulele lessons some 15-20 years ago, now it's your turn.

Can we use a turner Guitar to tune an Ukulele?
wayslinn 3 years ago
depending on the tuner, most normal guitar tuners will not be able to recognise the notes as they are not used when tuning a guitar.
i just use my pianno, G C E A
also a good way to remember this is:
G:good
C:chefs
E:eat
A:a lot
