i live about 15 mins east and i hear this & my sirens at the same tiem every first tuesday, mine to the talking but then the air horn(repeated buzzing) the talking on mine is ALOTTT more clear

i was there in a car shop at the time when they sounded it and i didnt know it was a test the door was open i look outside standing inside a biulding of course seen sky was clear than it said its only a test...man that scared the shit outa me

I work down town and this started happening and people that never had heard it before were literally shitting their pants. The guys voice was too muffled and they couldnt understand the recording, so I only made it worse by telling people that didnt know what it was to run home and get to their closest bomb shelter. I know, Im an asshole, but it was funny. ;]

This doesnt sound like any other Whelen. It actually sounds a hell of a lot better.

here the siren blows for a few seconds to get your attention, then the message sounds to let you know what is going on, then the siren blows for 3-4 min and then the message sounds again to let people know what is going on in the event they didnt hear it the first time.

That is St. Louis Medics Blowing their air horn.

They usually do that to clear Grand Ave. when backing in to the station.

It's an Ambulance's air horn built into it's siren box in most cases.

got one of those 2 blocks from my house here in stl. needless 2 say i dont sleep past 11am on 1st monday of the month. i can usually hear stl countys system start up as well.bunch of wailin whelens around stl.

Little Rock, Arkansas has the exact same sirens along with Federal Signal Modualatrs.

From 1961-2003 The Little Rock Sirens were mostly Federal Signal 2t22's and Thunderbolts.
