I grew up with the 80's show at first I didn't like the new 2003 show because I was like wtf no Bebop Rocksteady, ect. I got into it and I'd say the newer show is far superior to the old show. Its also cool that it is very similar to the comics and they adapted many issues and stories. That made me start collecting the original comics I have a good appreciation for the new show.
The old one is good for nostalgic and has the best intro/theme song of any cartoon ever :)

@DonnyRedNr1 thats not a bad idea. Im working on a script like that involving the new ghostbusters figures and "The Real Ghostbusters" . The movie ghostbusters will be trapped in the real ghostbusters universe and they have to come together to set things right.
i like the 2003 show better than the old one, but i do love the f episodes of the old one untile they got stupid and didn't stick to the roots of the comic, while the 2003 one was right on the dot on the comic the only thing they change was when they made shredder at one point a alien i was kind of mad about but it grew on me so i'm okay with it , they other shows like the one they went into the future was stupid but the other back to the sewer as okay but the 2003 one was by far the best!
i have the original comic with Shredder. the comics are way better than the kid adapts we grew up with, now that i'm old enough to appreciate them more
@Getthecrapouttahere thats not 100% true there was a 4 episode pilot based off the mirage comic, that came BEFORE the toys, Its on tmnt season 4 or 5, and Larid talks about it during the comentary on it, and also mentions on how pissed he was when he saw the cartoon.
i never even knew of the squishy heads, i had the hard head versions of those though, and i had the rubbery limbs and heads movie figures which were squishy, i had lots of the old school stuff
the thing i didn't like about the old school ones was that their weapons were orange?? and mikey's chucks breaks, i had all of the school back in the day

The figures of the turtles came before the cartoon. The first set of figures came out in 1988, and the cartoon came out in 1989. Other wise, decent review, turtle toys freakin ROCK.
dude check out the TMNT NECA figures! Based off original 1984 black & white mirage comics. Which were very dark and serious! (Abit like dark knight returns and many ofda 80s dark graphic novels at the time)

no it doesn't the 03 is based of da original 84 black & white comic book of tmnt. The comics were dark & savage. Hence the new show is darker & the original comic book creator is executive producer of da 03 show. The creators were not involved in the 87 cartoon, hence it was nothing like da comics.
So to disrespect da new series is to disrespect the creators of TMNT.
No 1 knows of the mirage comics they all think TMNT started as an 87 cartoon, when it started as an 84 a dark adult comic.

exaclty........I was really disapointed 2k3 shredder hit 89' shredder twice and got away with it. and just 89 shredder didnt really do much of anything villian wise. before I did this review I watched the first two seasons to research a little bit. and then agian afterwards. turns out the no tape on his boe was just a paint glitch where they forgot to paint it a couple times. and yes I belive it was season 3 is where the foot clan logo was changed to green on the foot soldiers heads
I think most people perfer the old ones out of nostaglia and don't know really know the origins of TMNT & use the 87 show as source material when in fact it's as far from the source as one can get.
I grew up with the 87 show as a kid, but as an adult I perfer the 03 show for it's more true 2 the original vision of TMNT and it's creators.

Those are really cool figures. I see the problem with the squishy heads having different color from the body though. Donnatello looks almost sea sick.

lol, I think my viewers like my reviews now which are faster paced and more to the point. I try to save my personal rants and oppinions for the end now so the main video doesnt drag on or have people loose patiance and interest.

This is so cool, I still have mine somewhere in my parents loft although they no longer have the accessories :( plus they have the hard heads, i also got raph in a space suit including the big silver sword. Plus the Turtle Blimp fully working and Turtle Copter with punching arms :D

However back in the days i know loads of kids who broke Mikey's chucks they was poorly made soo flimsey whenever i played with mine i never used to play with the chucks for Mikey cos i didnt wanna break them lol. My mom got us Leonardo,Donatello,and Rapheal. My cousin got Michaelangelo in 1999 from the mall. They still sold the old ones! In 2003 we upgraded to the new ones and became more obsessed. The 2003 turtles were $4.99.
Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird said they like the 2003 turtles better cuz it is more like the comic book. it just depends on when you jump in to the turtle's word most fans of the comic are not big fans of the 80's cartoon cuz there so goofy. just to let you know, the old donatello in the show also had the white tape on his bo and not just in the first episode. if you dont believe me then check it up again.
I remember I had one of Michaelangelos nunchukas break on me back in the day. You may not want to do this, but I fixed it by carefully melting the plastic over a candle and when the plastic cooled it mended it back together - but note the "chain" wasn't as flexible, but it stuck together. And if ya notice the elbow, wrist, and knee pads on the old turtles are same color as the headbands - on the new ones, they are brown like the movie(s).

no it doesn't the 03 is based of da original 84 black & white comic book of tmnt. The comics were dark & savage. Hence the new show is darker & the original comic book creator is executive producer of da 03 show. The creators were not involved in the 87 cartoon, hence it was nothing like da comics.
So to disrespect da new series is to disrespect the creators of TMNT.
No 1 knows of the mirage comics they all think TMNT started as an 87 cartoon, when it started as an 84 a dark adult comic.

exaclty........I was really disapointed 2k3 shredder hit 89' shredder twice and got away with it. and just 89 shredder didnt really do much of anything villian wise. I mean the first season of tmnt, shredder WAS pretty villianouse. I also almost wanted to cry when i saw krang but punched and tossed around like a rag doll to =( freakin stupid. and i NEVER liked the animation of the 2k3 turtles

I loves the 89 Shredder! He cracks me up lolz. But I always look at him as a spoof villian rather then a real villian. I mean his plans are most of the time silly lolz. I think as him as the dad, Krang as the mother, and Bebop and Rocksteady as the retarted babys. =P

In general I like both Ninja Turtles show.

Yes I remember watching him being evil but it's just funny how he became more of a spoof villain.. I remember there was an alien villain..who was that again..Anyways I remember him being a bigger threat for the turtles then Shredder (Which he's still better then the alien villain).

I'm a fan of both, but cause I love the original comics I perfer the 03 series.
I understand the 87 series were exgrated in their goofiness in turtles forver. But it's wat them then unique from the other ones.
peeps complain the 03 series too dark and different from the 87 show despite it was trying to be faithful to the 84 comics. but also complain when the 87 in TF movie is too goofy. Well wat u do want?

Da 2 shredders interactions were 2 be expected & funny.
I mean da 87 shredder is known to be a comedic villian he was only ever threatening in the 1st Season of the 87 tmnt. While 03 shredder who is much more like is comic counterpart is a savage! So the abuse 87 shredder took was funny in a"aw I feel sorry for him" kinda way! Though it was funny hw da most dark sinister comic shredder was beaten by trashcans!

I know that mate. I was just making a point. That some of these fans of the old show are just finding things to complain about in Turtles Forever.
I was using the example, that i wud've like to see more 84 shredder, but the fact he had so little screen time and was beaten in a humilating way. I cud complain about that, but I didn't! In fact I found it quite funny & ironic da most sinister shredder was beaten so quick. Despite I really wanted to see him fight.

before I did this review I watched the first two seasons to research a little bit. and then agian afterwards. turns out the no tape on his boe was just a paint glitch where they forgot to paint it a couple times. and yes I belive it was season 3 is where the foot clan logo was changed to green on the foot soldiers heads

I think most people perfer the old ones out of nostaglia and don't know really know the origins of TMNT & use the 87 show as source material when in fact it's as far from the source as one can get.
I grew up with the 87 show as a kid, but as an adult I perfer the 03 show for it's more true 2 the original vision of TMNT and it's creators.

84 original TMNT comics are like the dark original Batman comics
87 show is like the 60s Adam West Batman
03 show is like the 90s Batman Animated series
They are different for contextual reasons... u just wouldn't compare them.. I wish people would see that and stop being so damn bias.

If you watch my first vid compared to my latest. its a pretty big differance lol. as I have my own "format" now you could say. the annoying music was from the first TMNT game on the NES and there might have been a track from the 2nd nes game as well. sorry =(

Those are really cool figures. I see the problem with the squishy heads having different color from the body though. Donnatello looks almost sea sick.
But I think they're cool squishy. It makes them look more realistic.

lol, I think my viewers like my reviews now which are faster paced and more to the point. I try to save my personal rants and oppinions for the end now so the main video doesnt drag on or have people loose patiance and interest.

This is so cool, I still have mine somewhere in my parents loft although they no longer have the accessories :( plus they have the hard heads, i also got raph in a space suit including the big silver sword. Plus the Turtle Blimp fully working and Turtle Copter with punching arms :D

Great review mate. Im 27 now so as u can guess i grew up having the originals too altho mine was hard heads. However back in the days i know loads of kids who broke Mikey's chucks they was poorly made soo flimsey whenever i played with mine i never used to play with the chucks for Mikey cos i didnt wanna break them lol. Wish i'd of kept them now but i got rid of all my figures back in my early teens.. bad times :( can u remember original Casey Jones all his bats was green whats with that? lol

I still have my Turtles figures from when they first came out,they are in good condition and with hard heads.Donatello dont have his Bo staff tho,Leos Katanas are bent,Raph misses a Sai and Mickeys,like yours, have a broken Nunchucku :/ The figures from the days are the real deal, the new ones looks retarded.

My mom got us Leonardo,Donatello,and Rapheal. My cousin got Michaelangelo in 1999 from the mall. They still sold the old ones! In 2003 we upgraded to the new ones and became more obsessed. The 2003 turtles were $4.99.

Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird said they like the 2003 turtles better cuz it is more like the comic book. it just depends on when you jump in to the turtle's word most fans of the comic are not big fans of the 80's cartoon cuz there so goofy. Then there people like me who just love everything Turtle 80's, 90's, 2000 there all good.

cool to see the 88 ones again. i destroyed mine in a giant action figure war in the early 90s but they fought valiantly.

I didnt know about them till now. the comic versions look interesting,,a little extra articulation,but if I wer to collect them,id have to modify and paint them so
I dont think its worth it.and then they are re-releasing the original playmate ones that I allready have,they look all the same except shredder has no pants,and april might not have the blue stripe.bigbadtoystore also has preorder to re-release the party wagon for $30.00 =) all and all,,I will only be completing my foot army.

I remember I had one of Michaelangelos nunchukas break on me back in the day. You may not want to do this, but I fixed it by carefully melting the plastic over a candle and when the plastic cooled it mended it back together - but note the "chain" wasn't as flexible, but it stuck together. And if ya notice the elbow, wrist, and knee pads on the old turtles are same color as the headbands - on the new ones, they are brown like the movie(s).
