its True that they all belong to Pakistan one way or the other but we must also give them (indians) credit that they launched and marketed them so nicely that world knows them as INDIANS and not Pakistanis. Furthrmore ART has nothing to do with nationality or religion. its just to feel and be proud of whether an indian or a pakistani we own hem equally.
it's not whether the music is Pakistani or Indian, we share the same words and are so deeply blended into one another that these two cultures are inseparable!
@mithmenon couldnt have said it better myself. Music is universal and Rafi was amazing. The soul he has in his voice is just that, soul. He doesnt have to belong to any specific nation or religion to be deemed a legend!

m rafi was pakistani, he lived in bhati lahore for long time, dileep kumar belongs to peshawar, shah rukh khan belongs to pakistan peshawar, atif aslam, rahat fateh ali khan,, they all are pakistanies, so this shows that talent actually belongs from pakistan, but represent india just bcz they need a platform to explore themselves, thats it,
@KHANUMT what u r trying to prove is meaningless. people from both these countries are equally talented in all the fields like music, movies, cricket, literature, sports... we must proud to say that we all belong to a culturely rich area called Sub-Continent. our music, culture, artists, sport and sportsmen are great.
Rafi Sahaab called himself an Indian. So does Mr. Dilip kumar and also Shahrukh Khan. But the best talent these great performers have is not to discriminate between anyone. Their art form knows no boundaries and get across all borders. Aatif Aslam and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan sahaab are great performers. We respect their talent and their effort to entertain people. Stop discriminating between Indians & Pakistanis. Whatever happened was 63 years ago. MOVE ON and try to enjoy the present.
@KHANUMT I am not sure what u r trying to accomplish by posting such note. Infact you should be thankful and grateful to India and Indians that they welcome people from Pakistan even though the relationships crisis between the two countries never come to an end. This clearly shows that Indians have a big heart with lots of love...............
@KHANUMT Would Mohd Rafi be any less talented if he was born in Sri Lanka or Nepal or anyother country? There are people who do things for a living and then there are who do things which keeps them alive. Great artists are born to do what they do. Mohd Rafi was born to contribute to music... we are lucky he contributed to our style of music. Had he been born in America, we would probably take his name next to Frank Sinatra or The Beatles.
I have not seen God but heard his voice ...thank god

@KHANUMT but there are many people from India who are equally good. You cant tag talent with any specific country.
