There have been 2 matches that I felt Andy let slip away when facing Federer, I think he let the 2004 Wimbledon and the 2006 Shanghai. I felt those two matches were ones that he let slip away good win for Andy.
That year that Roddick was up 4-2 in the 3rd set and had that rain delay had not have happened he would have had a great shot at being ahead in that match and possibly winning it. But he didn't.
Why so bitter? Jesus, he's only beaten Roger twice, nobody is saying Roddick is the next Sampras. We're just celebrating his unexpected victory over one of the all time greats.
@Samprasisthebest the reason is because Roddick is one of the top 25 greatest players to play, just being trapped in an era where he is fighting two of the greatest players, and four if you count his earlier years where Sampras and Agassi played, has limited his success. To be in the top ten for about almost ten years now, you can't say it was unexpected because the pure fact is that in this day and age, any one in the top can beat each other in the top ten

roddick looks like he has grown up based on his calm celebration. Federer could use some time off though, hes been winning so much until 2008 came around.
Andy played amazing and I agree that he will take loads from this win and hopefully carry the momentum through the rest of the year (Wimbledon, US Open, Davis Cup...). His dedication is second to none and this win has been a long time coming for A-Rod fans!
roddick will take a lot from this match, yeah he lost in the semis but he was emotionally drained and davydenko was on fire and went on to win the tournament. i think this proves you have to count roddick in as one of the top contenders now. he beat djokovic and nadal in dubai and now fed....hes looking good and probably cant wait for the u.s. open and wimbeldon where hes done well
