  • I love this version of this song plus me being Scottish this means so much to me, I have played this well over 50 times probably nearing 100. Well sung and beatifully played, I wish I had this on CD.

  • Beautifully sung Kallegu!

    The composer of this song was John Cameron (1822-1898). He had disembarked from the Glasgow steamer near Ballachulish ferry and composed his song while walking towards his home (called White House) at Glencoe harbour. You can see the scene in Dunach1 on YouTube.

    The tune to his song was played on the White House lawn by the Black Watch pipe band for President Kennedy a few days before his assassination.
