How the American public thinks is to a great extent a function of what the media wants it to think. While there is some truth to what this guy says, I thinks the American way of thinking is very much shaped by the deliberate and calculated efforts of media.

The media knows two things ... profit = viewers and people are (by nature) lazy. I'm not denying the fact that there is an Islamic agenda. I think we have all heard radical Islamists espousing their agenda in the news media by now. I agree that media does influence collective thinking ... but as far as deliberate (your inference is conspiratory in nature) I'd have to disagree. The media knows two things ... profit = viewers and people are (by nature) lazy. Therefore they simplify and spoon feed everything in shorter and shorter sound bites until most peoples brains atrophy from lack of use. God forbid there is nuance to anything anymore.
