The reason this movie was a failure was because it was released at a VERY bad time. Just like Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, this film was competing with The Lion King, which attracted all the viewers of 1994. If it was direct-to-video, it would have been MUCH more successful.

Because critics are paid big bucks to say every movie that isn't some obscure black and white documentary style movie that would put anyone to sleep and isn't even in English is DREADFUL in hopes to look deep when in fact it just makes them look like a tool.

i was watching this when my perants came in and told me they were spliting up i now have to force myself to watch it im 14 and was 9 then and i can still remember the exsact bit in wich mi dad came in n told me that my he n my mum was gonna split up its pretty nasty atchly coz i loved this film so much the bit was when the pigin bird thing flew in to the broken glass mirror ='(

I like the Thumbelina story in timeless tales. It's so sweet..It focused more on the relationship of Thumbelina and the bird... They looked good together(Bird and Thumbelina), because the prince only showed himself at the end...
