I think dreaming of this is not impossible. If only to change the mindset of every Filipino from this time, this vision will become into reality. Planning for this span of time is good enough. The venue for this activities will only commence construction within 4 years before the date of the activities. So from now until 2020, theres still a lot of time if we really determined to have this, and dedicated successor government. We can secure the funds and settle all our national difficulties.

I agree, the Philippines should concentrate more on it's economy than worry about an Olympic bid. Take a look at the Athens Summer Olympics in 04, they wasted billions of dollars(or was it Euros?) for the Olympics just to see their famed stadium now remain untouched since the olympics. It would be nice to see MANILA 2024, but i dont think Manila can rebound fast enough with our slow economy. IF you can maybe bring the prosperous 60's back to the Philippines, then GAME ON!!!

the manila is currently bidding for manila 2020 and if the philippines wont get it after all the process will take too much time and there are many things to be done for a country to be considered qualified for the bidding that the philippines is still going to go for but if the philippines didn't succeed by 2020 the country will again try by 2024 but i know if it will be held in our country the PHILIPPINES it'll be great im not expecting too much but the show will be good filipinos are creative

Honestly, I'm a bit skeptical with the idea. Definitely not because we can't grab a gold in the Olympic games, but because we do not have the facility. Maybe, if we are serious enough with this bid, we should start in improving the country first - civil discipline, infrastructure, policies, transportation, etc. :)

I think dreaming of this is not impossible. If only to change the mindset of every Filipino from this time, this vision will become into reality. Planning for this span of time is good enough. The venue for this activities will only commence construction within 4 years before the date of the activities. So from now until 2020, theres still a lot of time if we really determined to have this, and dedicated successor government. We can secure the funds and settle all our national difficulties.

Better to have those billions "wasted" on Filipino workers than lose them in the pockets of corrupt politicians. Honestly speaking, we all know that philippines is not capable of holding big events, like the OLYMPICS. we don't have international standard sports complex. and most of all, ayusin mo na natin ang ating sariling problema.(walang kamatayan mga problema) bago tayo tumalon sa ibang problema.... I hate to know this thing. gloria realy proud us filipino for making a number 1 choice in manpower hiring internationally. Its a shame to say im graduated in a university but im here in korea struglng at nagtitiis sa pang insulta ng ibang lahi. Gov priotizing our better education for this purpose. OFW are the dollar makers with no sufficient benefits coming from gov. nag aaply k palang kinukurakot kna ng mga gov agency.

if the olympics is going to be held at philippies. i think this is the chance for philippines to rise from poverty. u know why?
because many foreigners will visit in our country. and also if the philippines win the bid for 2024 olympics it will be a good opportunity for a lot of people because it will give them a job.

I agree, the Philippines should concentrate more on it's economy than worry about an Olympic bid. Take a look at the Athens Summer Olympics in 04, they wasted billions of dollars(or was it Euros?) for the Olympics just to see their famed stadium now remain untouched since the olympics. It would be nice to see MANILA 2024, but i dont think Manila can rebound fast enough with our slow economy. IF you can maybe bring the prosperous 60's back to the Philippines, then GAME ON!!!

i believe that manila hosting the olympics on 2024 is Foolishness! i can't help but laugh my heart out. we do not need olympic hosting. we have plenty of job to do than getting ourselves busy for this extravagant waste of public's money. by 2024, philippines may need to focus much more on food security, environment, climate changes, poverty, clean and portable drinking water, infrastructure, oil security...... 2 D initiator ng campaign na yan what i can say is " DREAM ON or better yet " WAKE UP"

But Kobe University has no articles about the connection between the said "10th Planet" and global warming. Plus the "10th Planet" that you said is out of the solar system (Search "Kuiper belt" on Google) and can only complete an orbit for 1,000-2,300 YEARS. So in my common sense the world will not end in 2012.

Yup. And I don't meant that everyone in the world should be perfect. Pinoys should learn from past sins that caused them not to prosper and worse have tragic futures, like lazyness, dishonesty, hatred, etc. Even I do have many sins since my childhood until now. I have learned from my sins (and also failures and shortcomings, like my lack of self-control, vengefulness) so that I improved my character step-by-step, as God advised me to do so, so I may never do that again.
