I have the 4 GB model. After I streamlined the default installation a bit (removed games, unused applications, some documentation and example media files) I managed to squeeze OS space req down to 2 GB. This leaves 256 MB swap, this leaves around 1.5 GB for files. Quite plenty with 4 GB SDHC card. For minimal internal drive footprint, there is puppeee / breeezy puppy linux variants.

Can you use compiz on Xandros? I just got my 4g in the mail today.

I don't have my eee yet but compiz-fusion (compiz and beryl merged), should work with Xandros. But me for my part, i won't use Xandros but Debian. I don't really know Xandros but if there are no packages for it, you have to build it from source and you don't seem to be a too experienced with linux, so i suggest you to use ubuntu, kubuntu, fedora, or any other distribution. greetz OviloN

Actually, now that I've had it for some time, I dumped xandros after about a day, and loaded up hardy (haven't checked if gutsy is working yet)...

Either way, to inform, compiz-fusion works well, very well actually. I find that it this case it is very functional as well as pretty (desktop wall, and expo is what I mostly use). It really works well for switching desktops on the fly with the limited space.

to ppdopo: Just used dosbox (from Ubuntu repositories) and UFO/X-COM: Enemy Unknown DOS version from abandonware site (Had to use "gray area" of abandonware, because the copy of UFO:EU I own is for Amiga).
