How come every apartment in Manhattan has fancy furniture? Now don't get me wrong, I love keeping my room clean, but my apartment would have regular furniture. A medium sized mattress on top of a box, a few fold out chairs (keep some in the closet), and a nice big couch. If I lived in a small place full of furniture like that I'd probably ram my foot into all the glass, and break it. I'd have things planted to the floor for the most part.

@jbirns Is it a waste of time to drive around in the NYC? i was told by a fellow mid-westerner that its a waste of time to drive in NYC because of parking for work and parking at home is expensive and all the streets are one-way..and the BMV there is very hostile and car registration is horrific...

@TubeGuest5178 I had a car and only used it weekends. Alternate side of the street parking means moving the car and finding a spot every day or so or get ticketed/towed. Parking spaces go for hundreds a month. DMV is just very busy. Everyone uses the subway.

Cost of renting an apt differs, pretty much depends on where you trying to get in. best to get in where you fit in.lol people live way above and beyond there means there. But rent pretty much ranges from 800-plus. You probably find cheaper rent in the Bronx, compared to Manhattan and Brooklyn bc those are the places most young people are drawn to Manhattan and Brooklyn.

staten island you can find 1000-1200 a month, unless you want to live in someones basement.. then you can get 800 but i looked for over a year, and couldnt find anything close to 800 east of PA. The Bronx, if you dont mind ducking bullets then yeah you can get 800 a month..
