  • you can save ur progress in this game?

  • i hear you can use the mega arm to get items how you do that?

  • its the sound (on nes)i cant stand. they made bosses so that you had to charge up to hurt them anymore than one (which sucks but still ok) but its the freaking sound i cant stand mm2 still the best, but i do like the slide from mm3. as for the gameboy versions they all are all slowed down like mm7 and i dont like any of them

  • This charged shot is awesome. They should have at least made it an unlockable or special weapon in future mega man games..

While the "Mega Ball" in mega man 8 is pretty cute and useful, it is not as fun as the arm charged shot...

  • "You got Salt Water"

    Megaman: Ahhhhhh im rusting!!!!!!!

  • where did you get your rom!!!

    cant find it anywere!

  • Again, game to other console.

  • I also wanted to say the music in this game rocks! Especially the boss music. xD All hail Megaman 5 on Gameboy!

  • as a megaman fan from the first hour, around 1989, i must say, that i fucking HATE this charged shot. fire ur entire arm at the enemy ? WTF?! this is NOT "plok" on snes, damnit.

  • As a hardcore Megaman fan myself too, I never really cared about the charged shot--I've always liked it--but now with Capcom's release of Mega Man 9, where you won't be able to charge, I've been thinking not being able to charge is better.

It would've been cool if you unleash a charged shot whenever you haven't shot for a while, say like 3 seconds. If it were like that you would never need to hold down the button constantly, but still feel powerful. :D

  • hi, the carged shot in general is a quite good idea imho, but u just can stand THIS version. there was a stupid game for snes(plok) where the hero shot its arms and legs at the enemies. fucking hate to see megaman corrupted by ridiculous innovations like that.

charged shot can make gameplay more tactical, since when there r bosses that r invincible for a time or u have to evade 99% of the time like crazy. btw. i think, that there once was one mm-game where ur buster could be set to auto-charge.

  • must correct myself a lil. i think that game was mmx 6 and you could collect upgrades. there was an upgrade that could let u fire continious(more bolts) adn one that charged ur buster to max while u didnt use it. no game-setting, but still nice upgrade. though a hardcore mm-junkie wont have much trouble evading, jumping aso AND charging the buster without upgrade. guess that thing was for beginners :)

  • What ? I though the charged shot was kinda cool actually. You could pinch your enemies to death on future upgrades lol

  • brings back memory. i loved this game as a kid. unfortunately i lost it when we moved to the U.S. ='(

  • venus looks like bubble crab from x2

  • yes and little bit of toadman in mega man 4 on nes

  • It looks like Tango and Rush aren't going to get along very well

  • This game was great. I just wish that Capcom didn't cancel the Anniversary collection for the gameboy advance.

  • i know what you mean... i waited months and months... they just kept on putting it off... and finally i forgot about it untill i played the other two collections... i wonder if they'll evntually release it....

  • Best game ever, i'm glad i just bought a GBC LMAO...XD

  • Can someone tell me what Venus has to do with the planet or the God.

  • The bosses in this game are named after each planet, they are Astrobots (I forget if thats the actual term they use in the game). You verse each planet robot master. I can see what you mean about their affiliation with the roman god equivalents they do show some renditions of them (like mars is a war tank). I just think they name them after the planets.

  • I love the mercury theme

  • *spew milk* Salt Water?!

  • A classic Megaman game.

  • nice game.

  • Nice! I like this game!

  • *Uses Black Hole to destroy all the spam comments*

  • Rock Monster wth? ive played mm1-8 i dont know bout a rock monster.

  • I think he means the yellow one that changes into balls or blocks and moves to the other side of the room every few seconds. (Yellow Devil?)

  • It's official name is Yellow Devil, but back in the day, it was thought of as a religous reference so the name was temporarily changed to the Rock Monster for censorship reasons.

  • I don't know if someone told you this yet Toneman, but Tango is a cat. =)

  • The greatest gameboy megaman ever IMO.

  • wats an avi?

  • AVI is a file format.

  • you can get this rom at rombay dot com as well as the visualboy. thanks rombay!

  • Hmm...Neptune looks like Wave Man...Mercury like Crystal Man...Venus like Napalm Man...hmmm...

  • It's only their appearances. None of them are blatant ripoffs of a robot master in terms of attack patterns (though Saturn is pretty much Bright Man + Magnet Man). Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus (Blizzard Buffalo wasn't around until a year later), Neptune, and Pluto all look completely original, though.

  • tone...can you tell me were buy the super game boy :mega man 5 you don't no how much i love this game big fan, i never new mega man 5 ever came here in U.S. i dot came japan only, please's tell, i would really thank you,

  • maybe they delayed the release of the collection because it is inaccurate now that pluto isn't officially a planet... maybe they'll rename the boss and call him "moon" or something... just kidding...

  • Thanks for sharing, it brings back a lot of memories for me during my youth.

  • I wished I played this game, it looks awesome. I love Neptune's stage music

  • I love how huge the levels are and how great the music is. They finaly decided to try something new and as a result, they made one of the best megaman in the megaman serie and that, on a gameboy.

  • This game owns. One of the best Mega Man games.

  • Looks incredible. Can't believe they never finished the GBA port.

  • Nice. Best MM GB game by far!

  • One of the greatest Game Boy games ever. This will make you get into megaman in my opinion. If you have a GBA or a Game Boy Player on your Gamecube...find Megaman V

  • Could you post the other four bosses, please?

  • wtf hahaha, this has nothing to do with megaman :S

  • It's a Rockman game for the GB.. one of the best in my opinon.

  • good game!

  • They're not Robot Masters. They're Staroids, Powerful Humanoid Mechines from outer space. Each is more powerful than any Robot Master, even Mega Man. The leader of the Staroids is Terra, which means Earth.

  • rofl powerful my butt

  • BEFORE Dr. Light equipped Rock the Mega Arm.

  • I wish I had a Super Gameboy...

  • classic game,really cool

im adding this to my fav =)

  • All Robot Masters in this game except Mercury are Rehashed Bosses with sprite changes.

  • All 9 Robot Masters, in this game excluding Mercury are rehashed bosses with Sprite changes.Neptune looks like Waveman and so on.Venus Toad Man.Mars Napalm Man.Jupiter Shademan.Saturn like ShadowMan.Pluto Slash Man.Uranus Guts Man even has the same weapon.Terra Tomahawk Man with spikey hair.

Some of the bosses, act like their counter parts they were based on.

  • Yeah, but Slash Man and Shade Man never appeared on 8-bit systems, so they couldn't be. Also note that this game has more animal-themed bosses than any other original series game (Venus, Jupiter, Pluto, Uranus)

  • And Neppy! Jupiter was cool looking.

  • And Saturn reminded me more of Gravity or Stone Man than Shadow Man

  • How could that be true? this game was released supposedly when the NES megaman 5 was, and there was no Megaman 6 or 7. That means no tomohawk man, no shademan, and no slash man. el wrongo. i think you got it vice versa.

  • TomahawkMan is exclusive for Megaman Battle Network, I think

  • Tomahawk Man debuted in Megaman 6 for NES

  • Does anyone else think Mars attacks like Napalm Man?

  • Try Xvid instead.

  • Hey toneman are you using an emulator for this?

Nice vid by the way (as usual of course)

  • Yeah I did. From now on, read the descriptions; the first thing I include is info on what I used to make the video.

  • Hi Toneman, SeventhSun recommend that I should watch your megaman V video. He said that yours is longer than his so here I am. Thanks for posting it. I have been searching this video for such a long time.

  • No probs dawg. I'm practicing up the other half of the stages so that I can get that up on here as well. I felt I needed to post more of my Megaman plays. Sometime I'll pull out my Super Famicom system and capture some Rockman 7

  • I got the Super Nintendo in '97 and so I can't play Megaman 7. I hope I could find one from a reliable Japanese seller on Amazon one day.

  • I finally got my very own copy of Rockman 7 thanks to ebay.

  • Yo champ,

It's time you did one on that, haha. The Megaman series (excluding 2) is one of the best series for the classic Game Boy.

And Neptune's music is among the most touching pieces, excellent choice!

  • I totally agree with you about Neptune's music. One of the best musics in that game ;).

  • Thirded. Neptune is my favorite tune. Followed by Mars and Saturn.

  • Ahh portable Mega man i use to own the first mega man on my game boy hard as hell but it was still fun.

  • BEST Mega Man GB game... EVER!

  • I still prefer 1 and 3. 5 is too easy.

  • Why has Megaman been so bastardized?? I want to see Mega Man 9 with enemies like Volcano Man and Mirror Man and no more of this X3 Sigma-Battle Network CRAP!!
