If anybody really cares. They can look up facts, numbers, and voting records to see that the "far left" is lie. The so called socialist agenda is a figment of right wingers imaginations. Corporate rights, HMOs, taxes, under the so called socialist democrats would have made Reagan proud. It's time to start living in reality and not political fantasy.

If Rush Limbaugh is a "brainwashed Nazi," then why is he so critical of government? A brainwashed minion wouldn't be critical either way, while a fascist would be critical of those they viewed as enemies of their "revolutionary state" (fascists also view themselves as social revolutionaries). Oh, wait. Maybe we have to assume that Obama represents the Weimar Republic (as if). Khmer Rouge is more like it. Speaking of which, why don't we hear as much criticism aimed at the authoritarian left?

Erich Fromm has contributed great works regarding right and left wing authoritarianism. He was a german jew that was ran out of Germany in the 30's (for very obvious reasons) and has done great work since then.

Authoritarianism and Conservatism by Chanchal Bhattacharya is another great work that can be found online as well.

Back to my, " Authoritarianism exists in human nature" comment. "Let no more be said of confidence in man, but BIND HIM DOWN FROM MISCHEIF WITH THE CHAINS OF THE CONSTITUTION.." Thomas Jefferson. I do see Authoritarianism in some of my fellow conservatives. but there's no doubt it exist in "liberal progressives" as well, and i believe more rampant. Individualist, self governing, virtuous people are what stands in the way of the tyrant, be it Hitler, Mao or the old Monarchy's.

Monarchy's are considered Right wing, yet the Founders were extremely anti-Monarchy, but if you believe along the lines of the Founders you are considered Right wing??? The Left is extremely authoritarian. They want to control all industry, manufacturing, production, etc... They want to dictate and control who has wealth and who doesn't. Authoritarianism exists in human nature not just in one political party. Our country was designed to protect against the dangers of human nature. Many conservatives have been duped by people like Bush 1 and 2 and even some of the nonsense that comes out of Rush, Beck and others, but the Right in this country are not inherently Fascists, Nazis or authoritarian. What is considered "Right" in America, is radicaly different from what is considered "Right" in Europe.

@The1Skinsfan You are un-informed. 47% of Americans pay no taxes. The "rich" already pay the bulk of the taxes. There are over 50 million people now on food stamps or similar programs since Obama took office. The Democrats aka Communists want as many people dependent on government handouts as possible so they can control them. This is why Democrats have always tried to keep Blacks on Welfare, so they will vote for who provides them with the most handouts. This has ruined the Black Family.

Fascism is now a Liberal phenomenon.History has been rewritten by the AEI's J.Goldberg.The Social Dems in germany never opposed Hitler, and Left Wing elements were never disposed of in the "night of the long knives." The Communists were really fighting against their own ideology.

Conservative friends. They were fiscal conservatives and rational regarding social issues. There are few of them alive anymore.

Well, you've already found Obamacomma. He and Davisfleetwood are intelligent, patriotic, progressives and are right here on YouTube. There's two. Rachel Maddow, on MSNBC is another good one, that three. There are others, but they're kind of boring.

Maybe you could suggest some conservatives that are worth paying attention too. I try to watch both sides, to stay moderate. But, most of the conservatives I've found have been paranoid conspiracy nuts with no connection to reality.

@Retact You are a smart guy.Moderates are cool in my book. I am like you, I watch everything. Sometimes I even agree with certain progressive policies. I don't like abortion, but I don't think Homosexuals should be persecuted, and I think Weed should be legal, I don't even do drugs. We can evolve so much as a country if weed was legal. See that's not such a conservative attitude, yet I do cling to about 75% of it.

Thanks. I agree with several of your political views, here's a few of mine. I'm for same-sex marriage, but I'm straight. I support legalizing (and regulating) drugs and prostitution, but I've never been involved with either. I'm pro-choice, but not because I like abortion. I just don't feel I have the right to tell people that they can't have an abortion. (I don't feel the government has that right either.) I support gun rights. I don't support outsourcing.

@Retact Well I am not for all drugs, just weed. I think we can save a lot of trees and open up a lot of jobs. We could even fund more research, and find even more things to do with such a renewable resource. I think legal Prostitution would be a little far imo. Too many irresponsible people in the world. It's not like you can regulate sex. :)

My arguments for those views.

1) Most drugs, are no more dangerous than alcohol, some even less.

2) Most people who start drugs do so because it illegal.

3) Prostitution was once treated like any other service. If we go back to that we can limit the spread of STD's and protect those women better.

I'm explaining my views here, it's alright if you disagree. (It just hit me, are we having a civil discussion of political views?)
