  • That joint is jumpin'!

  • Man !!! This is it !!!!

  • That guitar neck looks like a ruler in Alberts' hands.....

I love musicans like this..not the strung out, skinny, sterotypical dude..Albert looks like he could play 3 sets, kick your ass and fuck for another hour and 36 minutes..what a man

  • Love that Flying V. Great video, great player...

  • 5 of these people that disliked this song where mean to them..

  • year?

  • Wow thats Mick Taylor on the strat! Nice jam, great video!

  • he's a badd man.....

  • Bend it, Albert!

  • Albert King had more soul in his pinky finger than many others have in there whole bodies...

  • Love the way Albert maintains control of his band, not letting them play so boisterously while he is singing.

  • I dedicate this song to my ex wife....The Bitch!!!!

  • @911firedept atta boy

  • thats the way to play guitar left handed and strung 4 a righty wwooo!!!!!!!

  • 4 people have got issues

  • to good

  • "Albert, a man with limited skills but unlimited soul."

  • the best session in the world was Albert and Stevie ray vaughn

  • the best there ever was...period, amen

  • hes from my hometown....Osceola Arkansas 70 miles northwest of Memphis Tenn....

  • OOOOOOHHHHHHHH.

    MYYY THAT IS JUICY!!

  • Terrific.

  • that's mick taylor, -- and when albert starts to play lead -- he oughtta sit down.

  • @bluelibra65 Not just sit down man, more like bow down. This is awesome.

  • gary moore?

  • Up tempo blues at it's best. My toes are still tapping.

  • heavy

  • Sorry man!! I know who Mick Taylor is and what he represent in the blues world and in the music in general but I could not identify him in the video...

  • Is that Gary Moore!!!!???

  • How can you call yourself a blues musician and NOT know who Mick Taylor is?!?

  • Oh Lord! That was something. I have shaked that right hand and seen that guitar in -81 in Oulu Finland.

  • Albert Fabolous King

  • the fastest i've heard albert play , still soul to the max . We need more albert kings , less jonas brothers

  • @Janders52 amen my brother

  • @Janders52 Amen to that!

  • @Janders52 Fuck yeah, horns up for Albert King! //,,//

  • @Janders52 How can you even mention those in the same sentence! Those pop brats are not even blues..

  • the word genius is insulting....as good as it gets...thx for sharing this.... too many people don't even know he existed...what a shame. ....

  • The snare drum sounds funny but Albert fabulous, me too wanna say: YEAH!"

    :)

  • Man. I never knew what I was missing my 15 years of my life listening solely to 70's and 80's rock. Just branched out into loving SRV, and now this! Love it, love it, love it! Listening to this just makes you feel like picking up the guitar and playing whatever comes to mind. :D

  • albert is great but dude, hendrix is god, albert king thought so as well

  • I played an album king blues and then an hendrix red house both live well jimi hendrix doent come close to Albert even if hendrix is my heroe ..

  • absolutely amazing that Albert King has to be copied and compared to others to validate his creative genius. He created the sound, and did it upside down. It's like Coltrane, James Brown, Jobim, Stravinsky. Came out of the sky. Ain't a jazz, blues, R&B, rock guitarist worth shit that doesn't want to sting a note like Albert King. Music is not about notes; it's the swing and the sound. This is what music sounds like

  • I agree however its more about FEEL!!! That what made Albert King GREAT!!! FEEL!!! PEACE!!

  • I couldn't agree more with every word in this post. Albert King was electric blues, personified. This is my favourite King blues tune.

  • sorry, but bb couldn't wear albert's jock strap. he's the real deal. there had to be a reason srv idolised him....

  • who is the white guy in white suit? ... he sounds like ass

  • mick taylor....and yes, ass.

  • which is weird because I have some albums where Mick sounds super soulful and great, Billy Prestons keyboard band album, but sounds terrible here

  • LOL!!! Does he sound like ass?? Mick Taylor !!! That shit was very funny!!! LOL!!!! PEACE!!!

  • that´s gary moore? isn´t he???.... someone tell me...

  • albert is the best king out there ,,,, to me, he is in my top five favorite guitar players.... this guy blows bb outta the water

  • i think you're right, BB King is, from my point of view, the best one, but i like to hear the guitar while they're singing or in small licks in between sentences.

  • When BB King sings he takes his hands off the guitar, but Albert King doesn't. Albert is like Jimi Hendrix or SRV in that sense. I think I prefer that. One thing about Albert is that when people like SRV or Clapton try out Albert's licks they don't sound that good to me--they lose the emotion. Albert's bent notes always seem to find their place and they always prick into your skin when you hear them!

  • MAN!! You took those words right out of my mouth!!! LOL!!! YOUR RIGHT!!! Albert King played with much more intensity than Clapton or SRV but B.B King is running neck to neck with Albert King. PEACE

  • the dude is a fucking genius. he makes that thing sing like a goddamn parakeet.

  • just look at those big brown bear paws. fuck i wish i had those chops.

  • LOL!!! He does have some big paws....I never really noticed that!!!! Keep practicing and you will have those chops!!!! PEACE!!!

  • well he was like 6'4-5

  • The Three Kings of the blues:

    Albert

    Freddie

    B.B.

  • dont forget earl!

  • kings the man....that must be a hot vocal mike. A guy that size can really use a gooseneck! He really sounds good here, exceptional. thanks for posting, this is killer.

  • albert king and john lee hooker greatest bluesmen of all time hands down

  • BB King is who got me into Albert, im gonna see BB in july and im gonna thank him in person for that

  • Some may be as good in their own ways. None will EVER be better.

  • Great comments here to the late great but never forgotten Albert, such taste and feel for the music, he always seemed to find a new place to go, bend that wire Albert, you are the man!!

  • I listen to so much Albert King... I dont think I like chords anymore lol.

  • When your that good you dont have to play chords no more...B.B. doesnt either. As for me I'm working on it . Amen to the "KINGS" and may God rest Alberts Soul......

  • Now, that is some serious jamming!!!!!

  • The first solo was by Mick Taylor. He's a great player.

  • Albert was smokin on this one. I think he let the first guy play a solo just so he could come back a little later and show the young man how it was done.

  • Giant of the Blues that's Mr Albert King. That poor little boy was scared to death in front of the great blues man.Love u Albert(hardest of them all).

  • albert king played with passion that is what comes through for me , he is one of the reasons so many of us play guitar ,. what seperates the men from the boys is the love for the music. from the heart ,that is where the soul blossoms .

  • Nicely put......

    The Blues...Heartfelt Expression.

The reality of life set to music!

  • Hey taht's mick from the Stones on 2nd guitar

Mr. King always had the Best side men !

  • Mick Taylor and John Mayall go back a little further than that.

  • its not Kings band, its Mayalls band. King is guesting/jamming here.

  • If Albert King didn't take up guitar he could have been a defensive linemen...but thank god he did!

  • Giant of the Blues that's Mr Albert King. That poor little boy was scared to death in front of the great blues man.Love u Albert(hardest of them all).

  • Albert King Rocks! He da man! He da bombe!

  • Listen AreYouExperiencedJH if you don't understand is not a problem! Think of it!

  • No need to get nasty.

  • The drummer looks like Keith Richards before he discovered drugs.

  • omg you're so right!

  • it's just you...he always used to play them differently not like they would have been the same anyhow, he didn't know too much chords so he relied mostly on improvisation...he is amazing

  • There are nuances in Albert's stuff that you have to listen carefully to really notice. As Mike Bloomfield said once, AK played more lyrically than anyone else and could write a book with just four notes. Plus, AK is the only player to intimidate the great Jimi Hendrix despite not having Hendrix's virtuosity. It is called soul and AK had it in spades...not to mention his being a master of timing and dynamics: two elements missing from most guitar players regardless of their genre.

  • Listen closely with your soul and then every solo WILL be different.

  • Awesome legend

  • If you listen to SRV music you hear alot of Albert KIng's guitar influence....Albert and Johnson are the King of the Blues! Love the Blues forever.

  • Whatever one wants to say about many of the blues aspects of SRV's playing, he was able to play the style better than anyone not named Albert King. AK's stuff sounds simple but it is nowhere near as easy to play as it sound...just ask Eric or anyone else who sought to appropriate them in their own work. (Sometimes note for note.)

  • bravo albert

  • The greatest blues electric guitar ever!No question about that!

  • The best of the best!!

  • albert is great!!!

  • Albert King makes Mick Taylor look like a rookie.. hahaha good stuff

  • Albert King is a giant killer guitar innovator and Hendrix - who was always an honest guy - said he got inspired by him.

Those bends, his licks and his capacity to lead a band masterpieces!Long live Albert.

  • drolling! drolling drolling!... AMEN!

  • For thos who are in doubt: the other guitar player is Mick Taylor(former Stones Guitarrist)

  • no one plays the blues like albert

  • Those bends....Damn! So incredible soulful

  • awsome beginning 1,2,3 wiihoow

  • Looks like Mick Taylor is the other guitar player.

  • John Holmes?? lol, lol, lol..god that was funny.

  • Is that John Holmes on Harp?

  • he is my favorite. you can hear so much of him in hendrix, if you listen to his mid 60s stuff. that does look like a brotha comb over he's sportin on the dome. too funny.

  • Ahhh! Albert bending wire like no other. His technique looks very simple, but try and copy it and its a different story! I think what makes Albert and other good bluesmen so good and unique is the timing, control and phrasing A few expertly played notes from Albert says infinitely more than 10.000 notes per minute from say, Yngwie Malmsteen ( who? I hear you cry, well! dont bother ). Too many notes played = evereyone sounds the same in the end. Albert lives on and on....

  • Oh Yes! You can identify Alberts play by hearing just a couple of notes. And by the way - Albert also was one of the best singers of the blues ever!

  • Thats true! follow Alberts licks and BBs licks its one of the hardest things I ever done. It not a matter of speed or practice as a machine, its about where the notes go. Pushing and pulling the time, bending the strings like hell, crying finding the vibrato with heavy gauge strings and pf course, a LOT of feeling...

  • Amen!

  • THE FLYING V!

  • Harp player looks like John Holmes.

  • I guess the white strat player looks like Mick Taylor, John Mayall is on harmonica. Albert is UNIC!

  • I was in Manny's music store one time in NYC Albert's bus pulled up. I tried to talk with him. He siad" can't you see,I'm busy son" Why was he mean to me? Just sorta kidding, he was a bad dude! Caught him at the North Sea Festival the same year Albert Collins was there. He is one of the reasons I can play the real blues as a jazz guitarist.

  • he was mean beacause that was his temperment.... don't be fooled by the big lovey bear.... he was a bad dude, at times very difficult to deal with.

  • Bud..People know me say;;I'm mean too at times! How in the hell can folks run around in ignorant bliss is amazing! The inventor Stanley Meyers jst died. Invented the ability to run cars off water. He stood up at a restaurant,"someone poisoned me" he died outside a few days ago. See him on youtube

  • Albert King - has a star on the St. Louis Walk of Fame (right there with Chuck Berry and Miles Davis).

  • Very Good - thanks for sharing! I think this version is a bit to fast. Is that Rory Gallagher in the back?

  • No, it's Mick Taylor from The Rolling Stones (Ron Wood took his place) and he also was with John Mayall

  • Damn good shit. The band really burn.

  • one of the best no dought

  • Great vid! Not enough live Albert King stuff around. Great to find this, new to me, Albert the King. Thanks.

  • cool beans, is there any greater...except maybe BB
