I think you'll find that Liverpool has spent more money than United in recent years. Rafa has brought in something like sixty players in four years. Only two of which have been any good. I wouldn't start talking about facts either. Because the fact is that Rafa has won fuck all for quite some time now. He forfeited competitiveness in the league for Champions league glory for three seasons. They should have never even been in the competition in 2005. He's just not that good.

Torres was a sensation before he was at Anfield. A good signing yes, but Benitez was helped greatly by the fact that Torres is a big fan of Liverpool and had been with Atletico for quite some time. I would advise you to check how much money Liverpool have spent over the past five years and compare it to United. You'll be surprised. Even the most ardent fan of Liverpool should admit that Benitez has not done enough with resources throughout his tenure. His tactics are more than questionable.
