check out gnr in 88. they did none of that anymore. and even if they looked a bit glam (couldn't even compare poison etc even then) their music was always just hard rock n' roll and that's what they wanted to be. I have to say though that Axl looked awesome with backcombed hair :D.

I think what Guns'n'roses was doing was a little different from the rest of that scene, they had some elements of glam, but weren't glam. I think L.A. Guns sorta did the same afterwards. I don't think they tried to copy G'n'R at all, they just kinda didn't try to be glam if that wasn't what they were, ya know. That's why bands like poison really ruined that era. They did everything they did to TRY to be glam, instead of just being a rock'n'roll band willing to experiment.
